Bottle. Pours and smells kind of bitter, malty, cereal. Not much in head bit fizzy. Its ok beer nothing special I would rather have saki if I were eating at an asian food place.

Crisp. Excellent served ice cold while eating sushi. Almost tastes similar to a pils.

Tin in Japanese restaurant. A tiny bit of malt in the aroma. A tiny bit of hop in the finish. Thin body, Thin mouthfeel. Overwhelmed by plain white rice.

Typical pale lager. Light and watery, with mild tastes of malt, hay and skunk. Not horrible, but far from great.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 thesoulofjapan (2) - JAPAN - MAR 11, 2011 does not count
Aroma’s pleasantly grainy and sweet. Nice dirty blondish hue from the glass. Soft and clean on the palate. There’s absolutely no tail. Very clean finish. Delicate body. Never get tired of drinking it. If you are looking for a good beer to binge on, the Sapporo Classic is it. N.B. the Classic can only be purchased in Hokkaido, not the mainland of Japan. I’m surprised to read stories from people who have tried this beer because I don’t know how they were able to get their hands on it. Most Tokyoites have never even tried the Classic.
