I like International lagers as my expectation simply is limited and I know what I get. This beer is a typical example of a beer with limited herbal taste, utter drinkability and a flare of bottle beer. Not a taste wonder but does the trick.

650ml can . Drank from a tulip. Holy shit , maybe the coolest shaped beer can I’ve had the pleasure to pour bus from ....lt looks like a beer can sent back from 2037 . I was 99 % certain I had rated this , I know I’ve drank it before , but alas a surprise new rate. Golden colour , with a two finger white foam head . Nose of floral hops , citrus , bready malts , cardboard , hay . this lager dranks pretty nicely , pretty soft and light , with bready sweet malts , rain water bitterness , spice , some subtle glue to remind you that Asian lagers are not the slickest . I like a good no bullshit , easy to drink non Pils lager . Good one.

The typical Sapporo that you get here at a Japanese restaurant. I revisited Kirin recently and wan’t impressed at all. This is slightly better, but still a bland forgetable pale lager however you look at it. Does have some mild hops to give it a near pilsner-like feel. Make sure it’s really cold though if sampling!

Can. Aroma is bready malts without much complexity. Appearance is clear pale yellow with slight sparkle and frothy 1 finger-width head with poor retention but decent lacing. Taste is straight up the middle moderate sweet. Palate is light to medium bodied with a bit of a slick texture, minimal carbonation and pretty abrupt finish. Overall, better than macro domestics but there’s pretty much no reason to drink this other than in an Asian restaurant to pair with the Asian cuisine/experience.

On tap. Clear pale golden with a frothy white head. Flavors are bread, honeyed cereals and citrus with herbal and fruity notes. Light body, good carbonation, slick texture.

Review based on the BJCP2015 (style 2A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L4257G0005. AROMA: slight sweet corn aroma with less rice notes. no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: pale gold color and translucent. medium moussy white head with good retention. TASTE: initial malty and corny sweet flavour. medium-low bitterness with a medium-dry and slightly bitter finish. PALATE: light body with moderate carbonation. OVERALL: another pale lager from Japan but made in the EU.

Light, gentle flavors and aromas with some floral grassy character and the dry finish I’d expect with the use of rice in the brewing. Would make a great combination with food in a traditional Japanese restaurant.

like to describe this as Japanese guinness. While it’s not as full bodied and flavorful, it’s certainly smooth, easy to drink and pretty tasty.love it ,one the best.
