Bottle shared with McTapps. Maybe this one is just a simple lager but one that helped me through my meal and had some aromas of grains and malt. Drinkable and easy. Sometimes that´s just enough.

From a (Guelph) can. Initial flavor is really nice, well balanced, crisp lager with no off flavors. However, as it warmed up and I got towards the bottom of the can, more adjunct flavors came through. Got off to a strong start, but really just a slightly above average macro-lager.

650ml can. Pours a clear golden with a one finger, white head that fades quickly. Aroma has notes of grain, lager yeast, traditional hops, and a touch of caramel. Taste matches the aroma. Grain and traditional hops. Medium body and carbonation. Refreshing in the mouth. Overall pretty standard put great with lunch.

Clear golden colour with thin white head. Faint aroma - a slightly sweet grainy character with some spicy floral notes. Clean. Body is watery and taste is again clean. Slightly metallic. Inoffensive, but no real character.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, E2313G bottle code. Pours slightly hazy pale straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, cracker, light bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with good balance of pale malt, rice, earthy hops, and light yeast notes; with poor strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, light bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, cracker, light bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and solid robustness of pale malt, rice, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly dry mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a very solid rice lager style. All around good balance and solid robustness of pale malt, rice, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Pours a clear yellow with a thin white head that transforms pretty quickly into a small rim that doesn’t leave much lacing. Nose is of straw and corn, classic macro but maybe a little tamer even than the average. Taste is lightly fruity with some light cereals and not much else. Still, no cooked veggies or any other defects for that matter. Body is light, carbonation high and prickly. Bland and watery, mindless drink.

I don’t get most beer raters. Beers don’t need to be imperial stouts and IPA’s to be tasty for what they are. Just because it’s macro doesn’t make it automatically bad. Sapporo is a crisp, light, slight citrus on the nose and taste refreshing beer that goes great with food. This is much cleaner and tastier than the standard pale lager. I wouldn’t get a six pack but a big can now and again with some pizza or at a Japanese steakhouse it’s perfect, this is a beer I actually go back to once in a while.

650ml can from Tesco. Pale golden colour with a thick white head. Light malty aroma, with a taste of malt too.

A pale lager with not much to say about it. Watery and not tasty, but refreshing.
