Andrew196 (1089), Anaheim Hills, California, USA Dec 6, 2005 can (and out of the can) The best thing about this beer is the memories that it brings back. It reminds me of subway rides with the bro in Tokyo. I think its amazing that in Japan, there are no open container laws, yet we were the only people drinking in public. My favorite part is when I was drinking it among children on a playground in Shibuya. Not much to say about the beer.....it tastes exactly how you think it would.
yalnikim (640), Wellington, New Zealand Jul 15, 2008 Tasted 15/07/2008. Shared with Brendon. Can, from Japan. Cant read much else about it. Can is not like the one pictured, it is gold. Beer pours very very pale yellow gold. The nose is really sweet... reminiscent of wne gums and rich gewurtztraminer, once you get past the decidedly "fruity fart" impression up front. In the mouth it is unbelievably thin, like the aforementioned sweet wine has been mixed 1:3 with carbonated water. But it is tidy, interesting and very refreshing. Strangely tastes like it has a big fruity hop character in behind but there is no bitterness - just a watery carbonic cleansing character. Lots of overall points because this is a quite amazing beer - and so very japanese (if this beer was a movie, itd be a fucking flying castle folks, very odd). Tastes like it is 2%. BelgianBeerGal (883), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Mar 19, 2008 Canned. Very pale golden colour. Big fluffy white head that dissolves into a film. Medium lacing and bubbly carbonation. Aroma rather grassy and hints of lemon. Mostly citrus in the flavour with a thin mouthfeel. Slightly metallic finish. Capa (720), Yokosuka, Japan Oct 15, 2007 Clear golden with active fermentation and a tiny head. Malts, sweet, some citrus fruit. Is there something thinner than water? Rather tasteless...a bit sweet. One of the lessor Japanese brews out there. BückDich (4525), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 29, 2007 Can: Citrusy malts in the nose, very, very thin, tons of adjuncts and watery. Happoshu. Fish (433), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Jul 25, 2007 A can from a 7-11 in Kyoto. Pale yellow, fizzy appearance. Palate a lot like a 7-up. In fact, this whole beer experience was something akin to drinking a 7-up. Sweeter than your average J-Macro, and a little tart. Other than the tartness, no trace of hops. Bleh.
