3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 15, 2008
Tasted 15/07/2008. Shared with Brendon. Can, from Japan. Can’t read much else about it. Can is not like the one pictured, it is gold. Beer pours very very pale yellow gold. The nose is really sweet... reminiscent of wne gums and rich gewurtztraminer, once you get past the decidedly "fruity fart" impression up front. In the mouth it is unbelievably thin, like the aforementioned sweet wine has been mixed 1:3 with carbonated water. But it is tidy, interesting and very refreshing. Strangely tastes like it has a big fruity hop character in behind but there is no bitterness - just a watery carbonic cleansing character. Lots of overall points because this is a quite amazing beer - and so very japanese (if this beer was a movie, it’d be a fucking flying castle folks, very odd). Tastes like it is 2%.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 lasonovich (151) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 20, 2005
Not the best beer I sampled in Japan, but not too bad either. A reasonably pale colour and a lack of taste leave it without an imposing presence. Still it is a clean crisp taste and quite easy to drink so it isn’t too bad.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jgb9348 (3371) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 4, 2010
Clearish golden coloured body with a thin white head and a bunch of bubbles in the body. Aroma of malt, light caramel and caster sugar. Light-bodied; Very mild malty flavour with a lot of sweetness and almost nothing else - super mild! Nice finish with no bitterness, no metal flavours and just a sweet finish that goes down really easily! Overall, a surprisingly decent beer, with only sweetness leftover from the taste. Worth trying if you are here in Japan - not a bad option at all. I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from a small grocery store in Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan on 04-August-2010.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 IslandHaole (1053) - Yokosuka-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, JAPAN - FEB 22, 2004
A clear gold with a fizzy, short-lived, white head. A mild sweet floral aroma. Tangy and crisp with citrus and cigar tobacco flavors. Clean finish. An easy drinking brew and a notch above the typical Japanese macro.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Frank (1966) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2006
Funny thing about Japan--their cheap beer tastes like cheap beer.
Wait... That’s not really funny.
This stuff is actually pretty decent. It seems more similar to American macros than most Japanese macros which are somewhat more Pilsener-like and bitter.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Stew41 (1413) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUN 22, 2011
Better than expected which in reality means I had very low expectations. Weird citrus note runs right through the nose and palate with a nutty almond tinged edge. Like I said weird. As others have noted hard to believe it holds 5%. Most likely constructured for that part of the market that doesn’t actually like beer.

Can. Yellow colour, little head, weak aroma of malt and hops. Flavour of malt and hops bit grainish and waterish. Thin aftertaste.
