3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
350 ml can bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.
Golden yellow colour; Half finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Small sticky lacing and slight carbonation; Slightly fragrant aroma of malt, with light floral, strong molasses, light bread, very light lemon and light grass; Mid to light sweet taste of malt, with strong molasses, light honey, white bread, lemon, light bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body, quite dry and slick palate; Mouth feel is the richest Happoshu I’ve tasted so far - pretty much feel like a lean, clean, and adjunct-free macro Pale Lager, say, a slightly-thinned Carlsberg Lager. Malt taste is light but fulfilling, rich molasseses, quite flowery, plus light bread and moderate light hops. No bad taste, pretty sunny. Good!... Hoppiness is light floral, light lemon and grass in nose. Flower, light lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is slightly stronger than most macro Pales a low but lasting sweet-bitter finish; Quite dry after taste; Nice sweet and quite hoppy to mouth.
Comments: This is a very well-made near-Pale Lager and, as a Happoshu, this one get full marks - nice colour, full malty feel with nice sweet taste, no adjuncts or off-taste, plus nice floral and good light bitter hoppiness. Very enjoyable light refreshment, and it shows you the potential of big boys like Sapporo can put their mind to make seriously good Lagers, if and whenever they want to. Recommended!

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Can sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks DSG. Clear bubbly gold. Some DMS, a little grainy aroma, sweet, corny and dusty taste. Light body, fizzy, unpleasing old malt finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sapporo are slaying the third category. About as close to beer as I have tasted in this category. Hoppy Germanic hops with a decent snappy finish. Cheap as your mother too.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks mom for this can! Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of graininess, some fruity esters (surprisingly) and green apple. Rather dry flavor with faint sweetness, a bit of green apple, graininess and a bitterish finish. Light-bodied. Quite drinkable.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
słodowy, lekko kanalizacyjny zapach. poza tym bardzo podobny do wersji zwykłej, z tym, że w smaku odrobinę lepszy

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
350 ml can for 105 yen. Pours golden clear, white artificial-looking foamy top. Looks like a beer, not a beer drink that it actually is. Aroma is quite neutral, a bit of plastic, a bit of hops. Taste has some lingering malt, some hop isomer bitterness. Quite OK actually, cheap alternative for usual industrial beers, surprisingly drinkable and compares well, especially when you consider the price.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Can. Stinky hops, grain in the nose. Light fizzy, almost creamy body- standard happoshu. Funky flavours of vanilla, wheat, pepper and mouldy malt. I've had worse.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
grass, floral, vanilla, golden, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, sticky, bitter. Smells faintly sweet and better than most happoshu. Looks artificially yellow. Rather unoffensive in taste, somewhat uniquely soda-ish in how fast it goes down and disappears from the tongue.
