4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ronaldtheriot (362) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JAN 14, 2012
Sapporo Reserve has a thick, soapy, slightly off-white head, and a clear, yellow-golden appearance, with lots of streaming bubbles and pretty thick lacing. The aroma is standard lager- barley and water. Taste is sweet, bread, lightly-roasted barley, and a bit of hops for rounding purposes. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Sapporo Reserve finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, mild, and easy drinking. This is a lager the way it’s supposed to be, and it’s delicious. RJT

500 ml can. An uninspiring beer. Lots of corn and sweet pilsiner malts in both aroma and flavor. Bright gold in color. A very generic beer.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 hayduke (2445) - Eureka, California, USA - DEC 10, 2011
Gold color with a white head and some light lacing . Nose of grassy hops and malt. Medium mouthfeel; Low carbonation. Flavor is lightly bitter and floral hops. Beats Bud by a mile.

500ml bottle in a lager glass. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of pale malts and light hops. Light texture. Not terrible for a lager.

Just what you would expect from any mass produced lager. Not sure what makes it reserve. Always fun to get with sushi if you not a Sake fan. Drink slightly better than American lagers in my opinion.

What a surprise! This brew was much better than I had anticipated and has helped start the change in my mind as to the perceptions that I have towards certain beers from Asia! I truly enjoyed the maltiness of this brew! It looked so light but has a really good ‘chewy’ texture to it but it is nothing overbearing so don’t let that throw ya! This brew was very tasty too with flavors that were very well-blended. I will certainly be venturing more with Asian beers thanks to the likes of this one!

Detected a mild wheat aroma. Pours nice and clear golden yellow with active carbonation. Has a light sweetness and bitterness. Finishes nice without any unpleasant aftertaste. A nice brew.
