Pours a deeper gold than the premium draft, and offers a richer, malter aroma, albeit with much of the same sour, grassy, slightly skunky tones that I get from the Premium Draft. The flavor certainly is richer in the malts; here I actually get a nice mouth full of cookie-dough malt and some fairly apparent grassy hops on the finish. By comparison, the Premium Draft is weak and watery.
It’s not outstanding in any way, nor it is even very good - but it is a couple of notches better than the more common Sapporo Premium Draft, and as such makes it a decent choice over the other Japanese macro lagers. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Nov 8, 2006 22 oz Can. Aroma starts out like an aluminum can. By finish smells like a urine sample. Appearance is murky yellow also with a good white head. Doesn’t have that over bitter wet corn malt to it. A rather smooth beer to drink wondering what all those drunk Demacrats will do next. A calming influence I guess. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Oct 17, 2006 22 oz. can. Yellow-gold with a lot of bubbles. Basic pale lager straw/dead grass aroma. Doughy malt flavor but with an unpleasant saltiness leaving a bad aftertaste, which could be from poor storage, but who knows? At best, another Canadian brewed macrolager disguised as a chic special offering from the edge of the globe, packaged in a designer can. demitriustown (693), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 11, 2006 22 oz aluminum can: Poured into a Pint Glass. Aroma is a lightly hopped, somewhat of a malt backing, rice, with some very light citrus aroma. Appearance is a pale straw color with a fluffy white head. There is an good medium bodied maltiness to the taste which I am pleasantly surprised. With a light bitterness and some actual hop characteristics throughout, and a light citrus taste on the back end. Palate is bitter, long, quite carbonated, and rather lively. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this brew. I had some actual malt and hops characteristics in it and wasn’t just yellow rice water like regular Sapporo, and other American marco’s. Nice! jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 8, 2006 From a 22 oz. shaped can, for a can, really nice presentation, with a freshness date on the bottom of the can.
Poured a chill hazy good lager golden with a foamy, fluffy white head, good retention, a small amount of laced, ringed sticking.
Aromas of a sweet grain metallic, a subtle lemon tea and floral.
Good, smooth carbonation and a malty crisp, creamy medium bodied mouthfeel.
A nice, smooth all malt lager taste, floral and lemon tea hops at first, good and soft in their bitterness, sweet grainy with a fine metallic edge, a tea fruitiness towards the end and a dryish grainy finish.
This is my personal favorite from the beers by Sapporo I’ve tried, goes great with all kinds of food, especially seafood and sushi.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 2, 2006 The 22 ounce can poured a sparkling clear light golden copper colored beverage with a modest, fizzy white head that was mostly diminishing but left very little lacing on the glass. The aroma was well balanced with a good malty presence. It also had a subtle floral hop character in the background. The body was medium-light with lively carbonation and a crisp, thirst quenching texture. The flavor started off slightly bitter with good malt underpinnings. The finish was medium in length and the light bitterness and malt characters held true to the end. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Clear copper with a lot of carbonation. The head left without much to say. Toasted malts. Some caramel and some fruits in the hops. A touch of a buttery aroma. The caramel is stronger with a lot more of the toasted malts. Some bitterness there at the end. Thick and malty body. Husky finish.
