lizzy (44), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 21, 2005 pours pale, clear yellow with no distinguishable head. aroma is light hops, slightly malty. flavor is somewhat sweet, some malts, a little hoppy. Nothing special, but not horrible sethdude (600), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 21, 2005 Pours a respectable golden color with a good-sized white head on top. Aroma is suprisingly good, fairly hoppy, which I did not expect from such a commercial brew. Flavor is cheaper malts balanced by hops, which is again pretty impressive for such a commercial brew. Better than any BMC product.. RAYBOY01 (1813), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 16, 2005 Surpringly hoppy flavor and aroma for a canned beer. Again, better with sushi than on its own. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Jan 12, 2005 01.11.05 Cooler 22oz can than the Premium: same shape but with golden grainy things on it. Slightly darker than pale yellow with no visible eff; monster white head is rocky and brainy as it fades to a decent film and laces in stucco patterns on the glass. Aroma is grassy and clean with clear grain notes and peppery hops. Yeasty. Full bodied for such a pale brew, the beer is sweet and lithe as it smoothly coats the palate. Mild malt flavors with a nice grassy hop character. This is worlds better than the ’premium draft’, and just as unexpected. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 14, 2004 From a 22 oz. can - it poured a dark yellow color with an impressive, frothy white head. It’s got a mild, sweet malt aroma, maybe a bit grassy. The flavor is good clean malt (no adjuncts) with a nice balance in the hops. Clean, crisp finish. Nothing special, but not bad. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Dec 6, 2004 (Can )Golden color just lile the bottom of the can pictures. Foam and fluffy head. Poor flavor of malt and not a good beer on its own. Had to stop by the liquor store and pick up a Japanesse beer to go with my tempura sushi roll. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Dec 3, 2004 Poured clear yellow with a white head. Pale lager aroma. Taste was somewhat sweet with little hop or malt. Clean, non-existent finish. Watery body. Goes down easy, but nothing special. Can’t tell the difference between this and regular Sapporo. BearBrewer (86), New York, east village, New York, USA Nov 29, 2004 thought maybe with the "reserve" label it might be something a little more interesting than the standard sapporo. Thin, watery, cardboard.. bleh..
