Sapporo Reserve is a super premium lager brewed almost twice as long as other competing brands. Reserve is brewed with only finest European barley, and the most select European hops.

Not quite clear, fat white head and golden in color. Fruity, spicy, ester aroma with a hint of alcohol. Somewhat dirty flavor reminding me of an ashtray. Vegetable finish. I think this bottle is past its prime.

Sampled from can (and a cool one at that). Reserve pours a clear gold with a lsting, creamy white head and thick, intricate lacing. Aroma is mild and unassertive with just notes of malts. Flavor is balanced and clean with a faint floral hop addition. Full bodied for the style and carbonated lightly. A simple, refreshing all-malt lager.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2006 INteresting, and nice too, better than the normal Sapporo beer. I liked but it is very heavy to drink it all. NIce.

Kind of a suprise in color here, more amber than expected. Weak aroma and little to no head. Taste is smooth but weak. Not bad, but nothing special.

Canadian Version. Not much going on here. I do hold the notion that I liked this better when it was Japanese. Very run of the mill.

Can. Barley and soy sauce aroma. Golden amber color with small head. Strong soy sauce flavor - corn/rice grain flavor as well. This was the first Asian beer I ever tried - attributed the soy sauce flavor to the food but trying it again with no Asian food in sight, it has to be the beer. Could probably get the same flavor by putting a couple drops of soy sauce in a light beer.

Gold pour, with corny hops and some honey in the taste and finish. The finish is dry, and the body is a step above the BMC stuff.
