Nice, clean lager with a small bite...good with spicy foods. The can is a good selling point and the beer was worth 2 bucks. However I wouldn’t write home about it.

My first experience with Japanese beer. Not bad, just nothing special. A little more flavor and less sourness than it’s American counterparts but still nothing to make me want to buy it again except maybe with spicy food.

Probably one of the better Japanese beers out there, but I probably wont buy it again unless Im at P.F. Chang’s or something. I couldnt find anything bad about it, but I found nothing special about the ’finest’ european hops and barley that that it claims.

This beer is a total waste of money. Its labeled malt liqour and while it tastes better than a cool steel reserve I would not recommend buying one. If your looking for a good CD player go japanese if your looking for a good lager, than look elsewhere.

Nice clean lager, nothing special. I don’t know what makes this reserve, but its a good refreshing session beer. Probably the most intriguing aspect was the can. It is uniquely shaped and indestructsable! They must make it out of titanium or something. I was only abvle to crush it after repeated trys and ended up having to step on it. Much better than those crappy American cans.

Beautiful golden color with nice carbonation. I had this with some Thai food and it hit the spot. Don’t think I would buy this and drink it alone without the having a spicy asian dish along side of it.

A nice full flavored Asian offering. This has all the body that most from the region seem to lose. It is also my understanding that this is the only truly Japan-brewed beer available in the US. All others are brewed in Ca or Canada.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2003 This can is about as cool as cans get, well beer cans. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it was a malt. Gotta get this stuff in the big four o. Smelled awful, but tasted surprisingly great.

Clean, semi-dry, avoids skunky hops, slight tang, very drinkable. For a yellow fizzy beer, it’s darn good. This ’malt liquor’ class is an artifact of American alcohol content laws -- this has very little relation to an Old English 800.
