2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 drowland (3570) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 21, 2009
Drank straight from the big can while visiting Hawaii... maybe poured it into a hotel glass. Typical lager and nothing special about it.
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 yemenmocha (657) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - AUG 19, 2009
Slightly hazy golden color. Looked better in the can, which is quite an attractive aluminum can, so I poured it back into the can (after you read the rest of the review you’ll see why).
Smell is very grain-alcohol-y, chemical, and fairly tame. Very similar to most domestic macros.
Taste is very light in all aspects, again with a macro character on the whole, and that annoying chemical taste. What is that taste? I can’t find the right word.
Finish is short and dry.
The nice thing about this beer is the fancy can. Unlike regular Sapporo this can has nice barley designs on both sides of the can. very attractive. This beer is far more enjoyable straight from the can - if you must drink one at all.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 shigadeyo (2394) - Harrison, Ohio, USA - JUL 25, 2009
11/09/2007: Sapporo Reserve is crisp and clean with a pale maltiness that is balanced by a mild grassy bitterness. The aroma is a bit grainy. The beer is medium-light and has a transparent golden color, moderate carbonation, and a foamy and somewhat diminishing off-white head. This beer is refreshing and not too bad. It is better than expected and would probably go well with spicy food since it would help to cleanse the palate.
16 fl. oz. can from The Party Source in Bellevue, Kentucky. Rating #217 for this beer.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 vtafro (1550) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUN 30, 2009
Can. Much better if the two sapporo beers tryed next to each other. Still a very light flavored beer. Not awful.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 joeneugs (1423) - Livermore, California, USA - JUN 8, 2009
This was acually a pleasant surprise. Didn’t get a good look at it, since I drank it from the can, but the aroma was pretty non descript and macro like. Kind of sweet, little floral hop, kind of dusty smelling. The taste was floral, with peat and a hint of sweet malt. Maybe I’m crazy but it faintly reminded me of a single malt scotch. Faintly. Overall, not bad. I may revisit this one later.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUN 1, 2009
Magnum Can: Golden color with a light fizz. The nose is mild with some malt and a little thin hops. Grassy would be a stretch. Crisp flavor and a decent body for sapporo. Better than their usual but I don’t know if reserve would be an appropriate descriptor.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sparky (2128) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 13, 2009
Can. Pours light gold/yellow with a 3 finger stark white head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is grassy hops and malt. The taste is sweet malt, grain, grassy and metallic hops. Lighter mouthfeel. Meh, not great but refreshing.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Trev (1424) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - MAY 1, 2009
Med. Gold with thick white pillowy head.
Aroma is not bad, light malt sweetness, not too grainy, very light grassy hop.
Flanour is sweet malt, grassy hop again. Not bad.
