1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 finn1918 (145) - Georgia, USA - DEC 27, 2012UPDATED: FEB 5, 2013 Bought simply because the can was so appealing at the top of the shelf. 22 oz can of Reserve was the same price as the regular version, so I went with the Reserve. Pours a very slightly hazy orange/yellow with a large force-carbonated head that recedes to nothing and leaves almost no lacing. Aroma is essentially non-existent. Taste is not too far from a standard American lager; tastes like it’s adjunct-laden even though it’s all-malt. Decent drinking, but way overpriced for what it is. Neat can, at least. Also note that although the company is Japanese, this is brewed in and imported from Canada.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 jmagnus87 (1385) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - APR 30, 2013
22oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark gold with minimal head. Aroma is mostly grains with some very light herbal hops and a hint of muscat grapes. Taste is light bitter. Mostly grains with some woody herbal hops. Medium bodied with a relatively thin texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Nothing super special but drinkable. Meh.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Drake (6491) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2013
22 ounce can. Pours a clear golden color with a large foamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of sweet malts, dust, cereal grains, tinny hops. The taste is toasted grain, cardboard, grassy hops, corny finish. Thin-Medium bodied. Meh.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 ryanfolty (1457) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 6, 2013
March 6, 2013 - 22 ounce can from Randalls. Clear golden pour with big head that lasted a bit and spotty lacing. Aroma was faint but some malt. Taste was grainy and malty with a slight metallic finish. If this is the Reserve, I can’t imagine what the regular is like, hahaha.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 adnielsen (6187) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Big fucking canned @ home picked up at Argonaut for $2.99. Pours a clear burnt orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Somewhat herbal, woody hoppy, toasted malty aroma. There’s some hops in the flavor but there’s a dull, woody, sweet malty, lightly fruity, light white grape flavor. Not as good as the regular Sapporo.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lemke10 (540) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2013
Pours a very clear and pale yellow color. Barley malt is very evident in it’s scent hinting that this might have a cheap beer taste. The taste is mild and rather malty. Rather simple and nothing all that special considering it’s from Japan. Something new to try from a different country, but considering it’s taste...you could go with Pabst Blue Ribbon and not be missing much.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 solidfunk (1790) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 21, 2012
Not bad. A little taste of grain and crisp finish. A little bitterness even, though tinged with chemical. Don’t remember seeing this while I lived in Japan. Big weird Sapporo can.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Elwood (2493) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Serving: Can. It pours a light gold color with a stark white head. The nose is pretty light with a touch of grain and malt sweetness. It’s crisp on the tongue but there isn’t much in the way of flavor. A hint of grain, malt, and a touch of light honey sweetness balanced with a slight bitterness. Light body with high carbonation and a clean finish. Certainly not remarkable.

Can. Tan fizzy looking color. Smells sweet with hints of rice and malt. Weird aftertaste. Eh
