1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2013 Bought simply because the can was so appealing at the top of the shelf. 22 oz can of Reserve was the same price as the regular version, so I went with the Reserve. Pours a very slightly hazy orange/yellow with a large force-carbonated head that recedes to nothing and leaves almost no lacing. Aroma is essentially non-existent. Taste is not too far from a standard American lager; tastes like it’s adjunct-laden even though it’s all-malt. Decent drinking, but way overpriced for what it is. Neat can, at least. Also note that although the company is Japanese, this is brewed in and imported from Canada.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A- Cereal, corn, malty, grassy.
A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head.
T- Corn, slightly sweet, malty, cereal, watery.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish.
O- Couldn’t tell much difference from the normal Sapporo. Still boring and just another lager.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Traditional nose and pale appearance, slightly more malty than the original Sapporo but still tastes like your usual Asian pale lager.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can 22 oz in Pompano Beach, FL Pours with a largish, foamy, off-white head covering a deep yellow body. Aroma is a bit of wheat and maybe a little corn, with a fruity note at the end. Ultra thin mouthfeel. A little bit spicy and metallicy. There is also an odd apple taste to the beer. Interesting Japanese lager.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Location: Uchi - Houston, 12/9/13
Aroma: It has a light nose of pale malt, and some light hops
Appearance: It pours a clear gold color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is light and drinkable, similar to the nose, typical flavor for the style
Palate: The body is light, it has an alright mouthfeel, and a short finish
Overall, this is a fine example of the style, but ceertainly no more than a mediocre beer.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Golden pour with a good white head. Grain with some sweetness and spice. But no surupyness. Bigger than normal. Tastier but light enough to go with sashimi. Actually pretty good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Well this is an "intriguing" premium lager, also is definitely better than average. Begins with an exceptional appearance, a solid gold color with a fluffy head and a great deal of lacing. Aroma is mild but distinctive, malty but also some floral sweetness. Taste likewise is somewhat subdued but a fresh and clean pale malty flavor. A full mouthfeel, although doesn't feel very carbonated despite the amount of lacing. Finishes smooth but also dry. Overall, a good pale lager, but nothing Japanese about it as far as I can tell, considering its made with all malt and imported European hops. A successful imitation of a quality European lager I suppose.
Btw i'm amused by the previous reviewers' fascination with the unusually large and durable cans this beer is packaged in.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: pours a thin head that recedes quickly. Lots of streaming carbonation and bubbles clinging to the sides of the glass. Color is a deep golden. Mild lacing.
Aroma: rich aroma of toasted malt, a bit of grassiness and some hop spice. Very pleasant aroma.
Mouthfeel: slightly heavier than most lagers, has a fullness in the mouth feel, almost some wine like characteristics. Finish is dry.
Flavor: nice combination that mirrors the aroma. Toasted white bread, some grassy flavors, and some mild lingering hop bitterness.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz / 650mL indestructible can into a pint glass. Served cold.
Aroma: Mild sour bread malt. Just a touch of hop.
Appearance: Clear dark gold body with a moderate foamy white head.
Taste: Moderate bready malt. Slight metallic twinge. No hop profile.
Palate: Light-medium body. Short finish.
Overall: Just a bready lager. Not bad, just nothing that stands out.
