zebracakes (966), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 31, 2008 Can. Pours hazy yellow, white head. Aroma is malt, ketchup. Flavor is the same. This is pretty bad. Worse than regular Sapporo. Also, this was brewed in Canadialand. The Sapporo actually brewed in Japan tastes better.
Indulgence (44), Ajo, Arizona, USA Jul 12, 2008 Nice looking can: The color of the can and beer match perfectly. Aroma is a mild mix of malt and hops. Flavor is crisp, but sharp astringency with a touch of a metallic bite, not much though. Palate is dry and with a tinge of hops. I don’t like getting buzzed with little or no flavor... DA (2300), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jul 1, 2008 I thought I would follow Garrett Olivers advise and try some light lagers while I grill up some seafood. Pours gold with a tall white head. I’m not sure I remember having Sapporo before, but this wasn’t all that bad, crisp, soft hops, non-skunked from being in the can. Not all that bad, although I have to say that is a pretty heavy can. rocbyter (604), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jun 7, 2008 Very light yeast aroma. Clear golden color with a small white head. Tangy and sweet flavor in the beginning that gradually grow stronger to the finish. Rciesla (712), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jun 1, 2008 Pours a golden pale body with a white head. Pale with a poor malt and a skunky bitter rice flavor. Pass on this one. BMan1113VR (708), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA May 25, 2008 Pours with a largish, foamy, off-white head covering a deep yellow body. Aroma is a bit of wheat and maybe a little corn, with a fruity note at the end. Ultra thin mouthfeel. A little bit spicy and metallicy. There is also an odd apple taste to the beer. Interesting Japanese lager.
