4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
The can is awesome every year. Last year they only had the Yebisu logo and got rid of all of the other text, so it was simplistic and awesome. This year they went with the wild text thing, but I still like the flavor. Definitely something to look forward to every fall.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. Burnt copper head, foamy aromatic white head. Roasted malt, fruit, good bitterness. Just the right amount of depth and a slightly sweet but rounded finish. Really nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2010 Aroma: Slightly earthy, lightly roasted grain
Flavor: Like the nose. Finishes with a subtle, slightly bitter roasted flavor.
Comment: Very Smooth--Good palate. Not complex though not bad. This was a "secret" beer on tap.
From a can:
Color: Dark copper, brownish amber. Off-white, cream colored head.
Aroma: Floral hop, light caramel note, moderately rich malt.
Flavor: Earthy hop and malt combination, medium roasted grain and caramel. Finishes with earthy hop flavors, burnt caramel, and subtle, understated bitterness.
Comment: Distinctly different from other Yebisu beers. No cloyingly sweet, floral malt and hops. Drier. Good integration and balance of flavors that sustains from start to finish (no signs of a hollow mid-palate). This seems to have a "complete" and full mouthfeel through out all parts of the mouth, and this sense of fullness continues even on the finish. Surprisingly good palate.
I would score this: Ap3/Ar7/Fl8/P5/O16 for a total of 3.9 on this second tasting.
3rd tasting: Light brown color.
Aroma: Earthy, uncut grassy hops with a roasted, lightly smoky caramel aroma.
Palate: Medium-Full bodied.
Flavor: Lightly charred, roasted grain, earthy malt, reserved bittering hops support roasted caramel flavors. Long roasted malt finish with hints of coffee.
Comments: Drier than the Mellow Premium. Nicely done. This time I gave it a 36-37 score range.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can for 7-11. Mild caramelly malt , yeast, some sour grape, and clean hoppiness. Clear light reddish brown. Good light roasted malt; a sour tinge in mid palate; finish is smooth and mild. Thin-medium body, which thickens up a bit in the final. Pleasant, mild stuff. Could use a bit more body. Good

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Medium offwhite coarse head shrinks quickly. Amber body with lots of carbonation. Light caramelly aroma. Sweetish caramelly taste with perfumy hop notes. Smooth and soft mouthfeel. Dry grassy aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit boring. (0.35l can.)

Poured a clean amber color with a thin off-white head. The malty aroma was a little toasty and mildly sweet. The flavor had light toasted malt. and some hops coming in the middle to finish. Light to medium body.
