Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a very dark brown, black with a nice cream head. Light doesn?t pass thur it. Aroma is that of caramel malt, rich and thick with a nice low co2. Taste is a warm roasted malt full of all that makes a porter. Finish is malt on malt goodness. This is a great porter!!!

Surprising hop presence in this, almost plays off like a black IPA. Nice roasted malt flavors of coffee and bitter chocolate. Tastes better than it smells. Cola-esque in appearance, with thin bubbly head.

This is a wonderful dark chocolate porter with a tan head that is smooth with an aftertaste.

No aroma. Black, medium tan head. Dry, cardboard and charcoal, weak. Finishes with walnut. Light body, moderate carbonation. Underwhelming.

Bottle. Deep opaque brown color, coaxed beige head with solid lacing. Huge chocolate aroma. Taste is coffee grounds, espresso. Thin to medium body. Very nice.

Thick and deep flavor. Very chocolaty and malty. I really like this dark and comforting beer. Absolutely will look to buy it again.

A black beer with a tan head. Roasted malt, toffee flavours. Semi-sweet but also a tad bitter aftertaste. Heavy.

Deep, dark chocolate brown. One finger of light brown head. It looks like a very legitimate porter. Leaves a decent lace. Aroma is a soft, nutty malt: hazelnut, mocha, breakfast blend coffee with just a touch of sweet (but not too sweet) caramel. I’m shocked at how good the aroma is on this. Taste is nutty, but less pronounced than the aroma. As it warms up, the coffee bitterness really explodes. The nuttiness balances the sugar/caramel sweetness very well. It’s almost like a coffee with cream but also a shot of espresso. The feel is chalky and dusty. This is a very solid beer, I should hope that Saranac would keep it in their regular rotation.

Slightly sweet and roasted smell with a nice dark and smooth appearance. good taste but overall a pretty normal and generic porter. Would drink it again but i would choose many other porters over this one.

Great frothy head, long lasting; delicious aroma, maybe cherry notes. Smooth going down.

Pours a coppery black with a medium tan head. Little aroma, mostly malt. Notes of chocolate and roasted malt up front, bit of a sweet caramel aftertaste. One of saranac better dark beers
