Saranac Adirondack Amber is craft brewed with pure Adirondack water, bottom fermented and fully lagered to carefully balance the sweetness of two-row malt with the delicate bitterness of American Cascade and German Hallertauer hops. Look for a golden amber color and medium body. You’ll discover a distinctive flavorful beer that is deliciously drinkable. Enjoy!

Not as complex and distinctive as I like, but a solid, inexpensive amber lager.

I purchased a Saranac sampler yesterday (the trail mix sixer), this is my first grab. So I had a bottle of this before dinner. This brew pours a sparkling medium honey copper. The decent frothy off-white head is mostly diminishing with fair lacing. The ultra light nose is toasted malt, spruce, flowers, earth, and alcohol. The bland flavor has a nice flowery balance and a slight alcohol spicy warmth. Truthfully, mine tasted a little stale, so I don’t know that I tried an optimum sample. The average finish had decent bitterness, but again was unexciting. The light to medium body has a lively creamy texture, and the finish feels alcoholic. Easily forgettable.

I think this is a solid amber. It’s malty and has a decent, uncomplicated flavor. It is rather drinkable and has a smidge of bitterness in the aftertaste. Worth a try.

Very malty and mellow, a great cigar beer. Nothing too complex going on here, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Medium creamy head and sweet aroma.

I like this beer. Except for the finish, I would say that it’s twins with Sam Adams Lager.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2006 Light amber color with a beige head. Aroma is like an American lager. Flavor of bready malt and some hops. Slightly bitter finish

A good flavorful beer. I enjoyed it while walking my dog and smoking a good cigar. It just went down well.
