3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with off-white head that quickly disappears. Getting a lot of sweet toasted malts off the nose with a little herbal hop. Taste is sweet with grainy cereal and toffee notes. There is a bit of hop bitterness to balance things out. Not up there with a good German marzen, but still a solid beer from Saranac.

Poured into a pint glass this brew has a nice amber color and a nice 2 finger head that disappeared within a minute or so not much lacing ...has a nice malty nose with just a hint of citrus from the cascade hops, taste is of sweet malts and a minimal hop finish all in all its a great lager one of the best of the style I’ve hade well balanced ...cheers

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2006 Bottle. This is my go to beer whenever I want a medium bodied beer that won’t break the bank. Nice roasted malt flavor. Little bit of hops shows up at the end. A great lager that isn’t trying to be anything else. Overall for $5.99 it’s a great beer.

Not as complex and distinctive as I like, but a solid, inexpensive amber lager.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 8, 2005 Very nice dark amber color. Good carbination and usual head for the type. Surprised by the complexity of flavor for a lager. Good amber lager.

I got this from the winter pack (under the name Adirondack Lager). This has a nice amber color though the head is nearly non-existant. The aroma is cool and refreshing like a morning stroll through the mountains of the same name. The flavor is a light sweetness, not too hoppy, and the aftertaste is sweet with no signs of bitterness. Enjoyed from a briefly chill pint glass, this was a nice beer.
