COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Adirondack Amber is craft brewed with pure Adirondack water, bottom fermented and fully lagered to carefully balance the sweetness of two-row malt with the delicate bitterness of American Cascade and German Hallertauer hops. Look for a golden amber color and medium body. Youíll discover a distinctive flavorful beer that is deliciously drinkable. Enjoy!

Hops aroma greets the drinker before the first sip. Color is amber with a very respectable tan head. Flavors abound in this medium-bodied beer. Nice dose of hops leads the charge but it's backed up by a rich malty body. The blend creates a refreshing and delicious treat. It reminds me of Anchor Steam but maybe better. What is so great about the Saranac beers is that they're a bargain at just $4.99 a six pack and the quality is as good as beers costing twice as much. Great effort from F.X. Matt, one of the nation's few remaining old line regional brewers.

I usually get the ívariety packí of Saranac brews and I think this one always gets finished first. Very smooth from start to finish, color, flavor and aroma are all true to form.

One of the first beers that started me into the better brews. Nothing demanding about this easily enjoyable beer. Nicely balanced. Easy to finish a 6, even for a novice. A great starter beer.

I was surprised by how good this was! Nice deep amber color, just like the real amber. Nice lace and not too much foam. Good hop background and very smooth. Iíve been impressed with all the Saranac line. Too bad it isnít found around my area!

UPDATED: APR 8, 2005 Very nice dark amber color. Good carbination and usual head for the type. Surprised by the complexity of flavor for a lager. Good amber lager.

Adirondack Lager pours a clean and clear amber color with a big foamy head. The big white head leaves delicate lace patters on the glass. In the nose, white bread and lightly toasted malts mix with honey and hops. In the mouth sweet caramel and toasty malts are balanced buy some hop bitterness that leads into a crisp refreshing finish. The carbonation is mellow with a medium body and a smooth mouth feel. This is a very good Vienna style lager and a must have when I go camping in the Adirondacks.

Originally reviewed: 1/30/09. Got this in the mixed Saranac sixer. Pours a crystal clear slightly dark gold. Very small head present, disappears quickly, leaves little lacing. Smells really sweet. I smell honey, apples, some citrus. Great mouthfeel on this one. Very creamy and smooth. Not watery like some brews of this style are. Some slight hop bite to this. Itís faint, but itís there. Malt is the main player, but not overly so. This is a really well-done beer in my mind. This would be my new session lager if I could find it in a 6-pack here. Recommend.
