Saranac Adirondack Amber is craft brewed with pure Adirondack water, bottom fermented and fully lagered to carefully balance the sweetness of two-row malt with the delicate bitterness of American Cascade and German Hallertauer hops. Look for a golden amber color and medium body. Youíll discover a distinctive flavorful beer that is deliciously drinkable. Enjoy!

Bottle. Clear orange color with white head that didnít leave any lace. Starnge aroma of grape candy, husky grain, and light malty caramel. Tasted of hay and again of grape candy. Slightly tart on the tongue.

Drinking Jar. Pours into a slightly reddish looking amber. Not that impressed with the taste. More impressed with Saranacís dark beer selection

Pours a pale gold amber. Smells sweet and boozy like malt liquor. Some stale malt. Tastes finishes bitter but not in the good hoppy way. Sorry just donít have anything nice to say.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow to light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (grain/cereal, husks, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs, apricot), with notes of concrete, metal, detergent. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Grain husks and industrial flaws cover up any fleeting enticement this might have underneath.

355mL with Eye of the Sponger custom label thanks to womencantsail via BlackIPA. For real, there is a SpongeBob on this official beer label. Pours a sparking clear amber with medium off white foam. Spotty lacing. Nose is honey, sweet cherry, sugar, more of a fake dish soap cherry. Taste is soapy, honey, wheat bread crust. Soapy and dry palate with a suddy hydrogen peroxide thing going on.

brewed with pure adirondack water - and that is the predominant taste here. the malt and hops keep coming and going - continuously overpowered by the water. some warmth at the back of the throat, but otherwise, nothing special at all.

not as deep as i'd like from an amber. seemed a little under-carbonated, perhaps. not much hop, or much flabor really.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2005 Bottle. Aroma is sweet, malt, citrus, honey, but...not too pleasant. Slightly skanky. Pours amber gold with a thin white head. Flavor of honey, none bitter hops. Finishes with distinctly non floral hoppyness. Feels thicker than most other lagers, but not overly so. Eh. Itís not bad, its just nothing special.

A little more color than plain old Saranac Lager, less bitter finish, a little too sweet. A little more bittering hops could balance out the sweetness, but Iím stuck here trying to scrape it off my tongue with my teeth.
