smells a bit sour, nice otherwise. when i close my eyes and smell this beer i see people enyoing a good ski while cooking chicken marsala. App: when i look at this beer i see the pee of the most dehydrated man. Taste: when i close my eyes and taste this beer i see a majestic grizzly taking a dump on a beautiful snow and christmas tree covered mountian. palate: when i close my and feel this beer in my mouth i see the view out of a picture window in a summer cabin of a pine-cone OA: when i close my eyes and think about this whole experiance i feel as if i had a bad beer on a perfect alpine vacation.
McGarnigle (182), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Amber color, head dies quickly. Light aroma. Very highly fizzed to the point of interfering with the taste. It’s not flavorless as I might of thought, but instead has some off flavors, sourness, on top of what would be a good beer. The Cascades add a nice touch to the more traditional German hops. sonicstylee (12), cayuga, New York, USA Oct 3, 2008 medium amber color, decent head with good lacing. smells of good hop quality. well balanced hop-malt content. a pretty good lager, but not very intricate. fidelis83 (63), Clinton, Iowa, USA Oct 2, 2008 Pours medium amber with a somewhat thin eggshell head that last and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is a wet bag of grain and a sweet almost honey like undertone, pretty weak though. Flavor is caramel malt, apples, and a little slightly bitter hops but mostly only in the finish. Mouthfeel is a little more substantial than the flavor indicates. Fairly inoffensive beer for the masses but pretty weak and uninteresting. Would be great for a bbq with lots of macro drinkers. 502Flavors (283), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 19, 2008 12 oz into shaker. Nice clear rich golden color with good off-white head that holds and laces well of pored properly. Doesn’t really have an aroma; some very light pale malt, but I gave it some generosity points for not having any off flavors. Very drinkable with a quick finish. Tastes like light cereal and water. Light bodied on palate with medium carbonation - a bit more mouth feel than I expected. Overall: fine and poundable, though not a unique flavor. Derek881 (349), Frederick, Maryland, USA Sep 19, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Very mild malt and barley aroma, hard to pick out characters, and some grainy hops too. A somewhat cloudy amber-straw color with a smaller, slightly foamy, off-white head with short retention. The flavor is very subtlely sweet, with a mixture of bitter and sour tastes going down. Somewhat watery on the palate, with below average carbonation and a medium body. Not bad as lagers go, but not exceptional either.
