Saranac Adirondack Amber is craft brewed with pure Adirondack water, bottom fermented and fully lagered to carefully balance the sweetness of two-row malt with the delicate bitterness of American Cascade and German Hallertauer hops. 12 ounce bottle. One of six beers in the Saranac Sampler Adirondack Trail Mix six-pack. Drunk in Arlington, Virginia. Saranac Adirondack Lager poured yellow-orange with a white head that quickly dissipated. It had lively carbonation of small squiggly bubbles. There was absolutely no lacing. The main aromas consisted of graham cracker, the syrup of canned pears, and buttery yeast. The flavor lagged behind, a bastardized version of the aroma’s promise. There was even a hint of varnish lurking in the background. If it was the only thing available or if it was the only non-macrobrew present, then I would drink it again. Otherwise, I would only use it to clean paintbrushes.

12 oz bottle from a sampler pack from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have bready malts, mild floral hops, light caramel, light fruitiness, mild to moderate bitterness with a slightly dry finish. Better than expected for a lager though now they are calling it an amber.

Adirondack Lager pours a clean and clear amber color with a big foamy head. The big white head leaves delicate lace patters on the glass. In the nose, white bread and lightly toasted malts mix with honey and hops. In the mouth sweet caramel and toasty malts are balanced buy some hop bitterness that leads into a crisp refreshing finish. The carbonation is mellow with a medium body and a smooth mouth feel.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a Sam Adams Glass. Part of a 6-pack sampler. Labeled as Saranac Adirondack Lager. Appearance: Very nice copper color that’s clear with some carbonation visible. Pours a small, slightly off-white, soapy head which disappeared quickly. no lacing. Smell: Mild roasted malt, some slight hops. very mild Taste: You get some mild malt, some sweetness mid way, ends with just enough hops to have a clean finish. Decent carbonation Drinkability: Very easy drinking light to medium body, very smooth. perfect beer for a summer night. Overall: Nothing off putting. Some good flavors. Better than the macro lagers.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed May 16, 2012. The appearance is a pale amber colored body and gave a one finger white head that appeared for a minute, fizzled and died. A fair amount of rapidly rising carbonation was seen all around. No lacing was left. The smell has a light graininess with some background hops. Some malts came out. The taste is grainy yet had a slight citrus going on - kinda weird, but that was what I noticed. On the palate, its about a light and slightly creamy, somewhat sessionable. Overall, this was an average German pilsener. I’d have probably have it again depending upon what else was served.

A very drinkable summer lager. It has a really nice color, and a nice, clean aroma. A simple beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
