COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Saranac Belgian Style Pale Ale is made with 2-raw barley and traditional european malts. Brewed with a perfect balance of malt and hops, this is a "sessionable" Belgian style ale. Look for a light amber color and a distinctive fruitiness from the Belgian yeast used in fermentation. Consumed by Belgians as an "everyday" beer, this style will quickly become your winter go-to!

It pours a bright clear golden color leaving a very clear body and a half inch white foamy head in my chalice. Small inner valleys appear within the head and light rapidly moving carbonation is seen rising. The smell was the banana and clove up front with light fruitiness in the background. The taste was sweet and kinda grainy with the fruitiness coming back more so in a citrusy sort of way. It leaves a dry aftertaste and a sticky finish. The palate is light with nothing harsh on the tongue, a really nice smoothness is felt all around, kinda creamy. Overall, this is adequate for me and for the style.

Clear golden color with white head. Fruit and clove aroma. Smooth malty start with some fruit flavors followed by clove and finishing with some hoppiness.

Sampled on 3/21/2014. This Belgian Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, floral and spicy with a touch of yeast. A medium to light bodied Belgian Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, some tropical, some peach. The hops are herbal and a touch citrusy. Decent carbonation. A little yeasty, a touch thin and it finishes a touch sweet. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottle. Pours clear, applejuice-like with a small spit head. Can’t quite place the aroma, but it’s not pleasant. Tastes of cheap lager with undertones of metal.

Bottle, BB Mar 31, 2014. Nose is mineral, fruity Belgian yeast with spaghetti and worty cereal grain, pours clear golden with a soapy off-white head. Taste is very grainy with a little bit of plastic astringency and sweetness, hollow on the inside, touches of fruit and hoppiness but each subservient. Light-medium body is calm, some citrus zinging but not many signs of life. Would work as a Tafelbier, I guess, but I’d always be yearning for more.

Bottle from sampler pack. Pours clear amber with rising fizzy off-white head. Aroma is cookie and cereal malts, floral notes, Belgian yeast, light funk, and some mango. Flavor is dry malts, light toast, grassy notes, faint citrus esters, and yeasty notes; dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Musty yeast, lemon and light barley malt aroma. Medium yellow with small head. Yeasty barley malt and musty lemon peel flavor. A nice beer.

12 oz bottle from the holiday sampler case. Pours with a minimum head and a yellow to tan color. Medium body with a nice finish. For the relative cost of the case, this is well worth the investment.

Spicy banana bread and soft malt aroma. Clear orange like many pale ales. Tangy citrus taste, more bitter than expected, guess that the ’pale’ part of the equation. Soft squishy body. Okay effort here but too watered down. Guessing 4.8%

Bottle. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate yeast balanced aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and lively carbonation. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Thanks to spinrsx for this. Pours clear golden with a small white top. Aroma is yeast and bready malts. Taste is a bit oxidized but big yeast and bready malts.
