COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Big Moose Ale is an American Pale Ale with a kick. The medium-bodied malt sweetness is balanced by a nice crisp bitterness from hand selected centennial and cascade hops. Look for a vibrant citrusy hop aroma that will leave you craving another swig!

Simple, easy-drinking, no big flaws. Nice hop bitters and a little juicy citrus flavor in the finish. But, really lacking aroma, any malt flavor, anything to balance the hops, or any reason to spend money (albeit very little) on this beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours yellow with a short lived 1/2" white head. Weak floral hop aroma, secondary citrus. Tired hop flavor with a bit of caramel malt. Medium bodied with no noticable finish. Meh

Meh. The aroma is not bad; malty, slightly toasted some hops. Appearance is amber with a white head just what you’d expect. However, taste is bitter, lacks complexity, slightly malty and just a little unbalanced. The finish is totally blah with little more than a confused ending. Not bad, but probably forgettable.

bubbleflubber (1816) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Pours tea-like into the glass, lightly hazy, with a generous soapy head that leaves soap lacing. The nose is biscuity, light and clean. Flavors are of caramel, biscuit flour, pale malt, some tannins, and balanced with a lightly bitter back. A drier palate ensues, with active carbonation and a medium-light body. A decent pale ale here, but nothing overtly complex. Good for an after work offering, but not anything you’ll show off to your friends.

Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a orange honey with a lace head. Aroma is a nice low co2 with malt notes. Taste is not what you would think, its more like an ipa. Hoppy bitterness, great stuff. Finish is a nice bitter wash.

Draft. Pours clear copper with minimal head. The aroma Is caramel and light pine maybe. The taste is malt forward with light bitterness. Poor.

Bottle poured a red amber color with a thin cover of white head that fell right off. Aroma has caramel malt, grains, and some dull hops. Mouth feel is medium light and the carbonation a bit low. Flavor has Caramel malt, light hops, and grains.

Cereal nose and a mild palate. Not unpleasant, but rather boring profile of oats, lemon and bitter pine. Very little on the finish.

Bottle. Minimial aroma. Medium amber color. Mild hop bitterness, not a ton of flavor. Not a bad change of pace.
