zappafan99 (322), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Sep 5, 2008 Taste 9/8 Bottle(?date) Looks: Black with a lacing head. Aroma: Biscuit, grain and roast. Taste: Creamy, bitter and grain. A bit of clash in the flavor. Ok rds (92), USA Sep 4, 2008 Brilliantly mahogany body with a strident tan head, slow to dissolve, this is a fine marriage of stout sweetness, coffee extract and a hoppy finish. A nice alternative brew. colts9016 (184), Oklahoma, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pour: Very dark espresso light lacing and a light tan head
Nose: Caramelized malt, coffee, malt hoppy molasses and a sweet bready hint.
Taste: Caramelized malt coffee malt hops hints of bread and molasses.
Finish: Slightly acidic little bit of a lasting hoppy finish.
Overall a good beer, well balanced good finish and flavor. enjoyed GMUcrew7 (183), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 30, 2008 Last sample from the mix pack, pours dark brown with an amber hue and a small tan head. Aroma has roasted chocolate malts with some coffee. The roasted malts are prevalent in the flavor, with a nice bitterness as well. The light body takes a little bit away from an otherwise enjoyable, easy to drink beer. dkachur (778), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Very dark brown pour appears black with a very small head. Grainy and slightly fruity aroma. Big roasted grain taste with coffee notes and some hop bitterness. Very dry.
