3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle in an English pint. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate and caramel malts, light hops, and some dough. Flavor the same with a lot of caramel. Average texture. Interesting but not the best porter.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
12oz served in a Great Divide Pint glass.
A - Pours a clear chestnut red with a bumpy tan head that sinks quickly.
S - Caramel candies jump right out, syrupy malt, not much else.
T - Candy caramel mixed with an undesirable malt, slightly roasted some soured fruit rides underneath, a roasty bitterness on the finish.
M - Medium body, slick feel, semi dry finish.
This taste like an underwhelming homebrew with added candy caramel. Super sweet, slick, and kinda makes you shiver as it goes down.
Serving type: bottle

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Too light of a body. Definitely can taste the caramel notes which I do like. A ad bit too sweet. Great idea but certainly not perfected.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown with a thin, light lacy, tan, lasting head. Smells of roast, coffee, with a strong plum and a dark caramel. Light thin frothy body. Tastes of caramel fills the mouth with a bitter roast bitter slightly burnt finish.

Not a porter guy but this was decent. Could really taste the caramel undertones. Would drink again

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It pours a deep red and gives a dark brown colored body. A foamy off-white one inch head appears and lasts for a good half minute. It leaves some nice spider-web foamy lacing. The smell is all about the caramel, almost slightly overbearing but as the beer warmed I noticed some of the roasted malts and nuts. The taste is definitely the caramel coming in ever so strong and pretty much not letting anything come out even as the beer warmed. The palate is light to medium with some light harshness on the tongue. Overall, well, by the name, I think Saranac/Matt knew what they were going for, so I think for them well done, for me, uh ... not impressed, could be a dessert beer, but not necessarily one Iíd come back to.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with an off-white head that disappeared quickly. Caramel, Chinese herbs and medicine, vanilla. Light to medium body with vanilla and syrupy finish. One bottle is enough...
