Very sweet - the caramel, as the name infers, really jumps out at you. It’s almost too much and seems a little unbalanced, but still it’s a pretty good beer.

This is an awesome Caramel porter. The caramel is very present in the taste and the aroma. I love this beer.

this one is thin for a porter, but a pretty auburn brown with a thin beige top. not a great deal to add to previous ratings since this is a beer that’s either going to gaffe or ingratiate based on your feelings for added caramel. tho my eyes narrow in huge skepticism to any casting down and dancing upon the reinheitsgebot, caramel seems an innoucuous adjunct and they’ve used it with reasonable restraint. i like it, but it’s a one trick pony.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2003 I've never had a carmel porter before, and i did not know what i was missing. This was exceptionalally boring. It goes great with some french vanilla icecream though. Descent flavor, while not weakening the overall body. A little watered down if ya ask me. Could use some more additional malts.

Felt like I was drinking a 3 musketeers bar. Although good on the proper occasion

Nice caramel flavor, but not very complex. Would be nice if offset with some roasted malt flavor.

I like caramel and i love porter, so i though as i opened the bottle why not combine the two. Well now i know, though a brave and noble attempt i felt as though the caramel overpowered all other flavors in teh beer, such as roasted nuttiness detecable only slightly in the finish. Some added depth flavorwise would go a long way.

If you want a sweet beer with only a hint of bitterness this is the one. It’s full of caramel from the first scent to the aftertaste. This beer is like dessert.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2006 If you like eating Caramellos all the time, you will never drink another beer. If you are sane, you will think there is too much caramel and that you could deal with less caramel in your porters. It needs to be balanced out with something, like chocolate or coffee, hmmmmm....chocolate coffee beer...with caramel.
