12 ounce bottle from Harris Teeter - Barracks, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear dark brown color with a thin tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of pretty damn strong caramel notes, sweet and almost cloying, some butter and faint hops. The taste is faintly roasted malts, caramel, faint hops and a bitter finish. Medium bodied.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pours dark brown body with a creamy tan head. The aroma is intensely caramel with some subtle hops sneaking through. Flavor is very thing, and what is there is almost all caramel. A little roasted malt sneak through at the end, but not much. This brew is definitely biased towards "caramel" more than "porter," but I don’t mind that. The downsides for me are a very thin mouthfeel. The beer is lacking a richness and a creaminess that would make it outstanding. So close.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very dark brown pour. Aroma is real big true caramel, like a caramel-swirled brownie. Flavor is hyper-sweet candy and caramel malts. Too sweet. But it does smell good... eh.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a mahogany color with a medium, frothy, beige head. It has a very strong aroma of sweet butterscotch. Almost a candy caramel aroma, not a "beer" caramel aroma. Flavor of sweet, artificial caramel, and ends a little bitter.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Just bought this last night. Recommended by my local retailer, this limited edition seasonal is a great find. Rich in color and the aroma of caramel, this porter is surprisingly light and deeply rich in flavor. Get it while the gettin’s good...

Pours a deep red color with a light brown head. Smells of caramel and roasted chocolate. Taste is very chocolatey. Almost like a chocolate bar. Very chocolatey indeed! I kind of like this one because I like chocolate bars! Woo hoo.
