COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Caramel Porter is a robust, flavorful porter reminiscent of a by-gone era. True to brewing tradition, we've used dark caramel malt as well as Fuggles & East Kent Goldings hops for a smooth, yet slightly bitter, roasted flavor. Look for hints of real caramel used in brewing this delicious brew. Enjoy.

16th August 2008. Clear dark brown beer. Pronounced toffee caramel - loud and clear! Not that sweet and even a little sourness coming through at the end. Not a subtle beer, does what it says on the label, caramel and more caramel. Drinkable though!

Burgundy-brown colour. Large bubbles. No head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla and what I imagine to be bile. Really unappetizing. Very sweet flavour with lots of vanilla and the taste of artificial awfulness.

Beautiful on the pour -- brown red body with a lasting tan head. Aroma is caramel -- not standard beer caramel aroma, more like sweet candy caramel. Flavor is intensely sweet caramel, with the wee bit of earthy hoppy bitterness at the swallow insufficient to lend any hint of balance.

12oz bottle-pours a brown head. Color is brown/reddish. Aroma is caramel. Taste is very sweet caramel (too sweet) and malt. OK for an occasional, but not a session beer for sure.

Black with ruby edges, fine tan head, sweet carmel candy aroma like a hot carmel covered apple, lots of carmel flavor but surprisingly not too sweet, all carmel all the time until the end, needs some roasted malts to balance it out

BOTTLE. Sweet aroma that matchs the name. Black color with large tan head. Flavor was good and sweet but not as good as the start. Good but would not be first choice in style.
