Good caramel flavor with a touch of malt. One of the better porters - almost a dessert beer.

One of my favorite beers. Good aroma, great flavor, easy drinking. The caramel flavor and aroma is fantastic. If you like beer that has a caramel-scotch taste you’ll love this beer. It really doesn’t taste like a porter more like a dark ale.I wish this beer was available year round, unfortunately its a seasonal brew. Definitely Matt Brewing Companys best beer.

Personally, I feel the more you drink the less you taste. Several beers into an evening I pulled this one out and the aroma was intense with caramel as was the flavor. I thought the chocolate stouts were intense with flavor but this one was far and away a most flavorful brew. Perhaps a bit to intense and flavorful as I had to actually work to finish this one. One of only a few beers I will not want to try again.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is probably the best tasting beer out there that no one knows of, probly cause of it being so limited. Great flavor!

It’s too bad this beer is only included in their seasonal package or at the brewery.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle. pours a dark redish brown. biege head about two inches of it. lasting with a beautiful lacing. smells predominitly caramel with kind of a vinegar sent. taste is unbalanced. taste starts with caramel and sharply turns to bitter hoppy taste. the idea of a caramel porter is really inticing but i think it could be better.

12 oz brown bottle from the winter pack.Poured into a lager glass temp around 40 F. Nice frothy head appeared emitted an aroma that is overpoweringly caramel. The head dissipated quickly, but the brew remained softly carbonated throughout the session. The medium body produced a sweet, malty taste that was dominated by caramel. The finish seems to taper gradually to an end. Nice effect. Overall -- not a bad beer that can be considered "As Advertised" by a multi-talented brewer.

Just bought this last night. Recommended by my local retailer, this limited edition seasonal is a great find. Rich in color and the aroma of caramel, this porter is surprisingly light and deeply rich in flavor. Get it while the gettin’s good...
