Saranac Chocolate Lager is a sinfully delicious deep amber lager made with certified organic cacao from Belize. Our brewers looked far and wide for the highest quality cacao to create a smooth chocolaty taste that only comes from the most exclusive cacao plants. We used the roasted seeds of these decadent plants and perfectly paired them with caramel malt and German Hallertau hops to create a malty chocolate sweet flavor. You’ll love savoring this beer with your favorite holiday foods or on its own for a delicious treat!

Amber color with a thin head. Some lacing. Mild sweetness of chocolate flavor. Clean finish. Not bad but the aroma leaves a lot to be desired. On the other hand, the flavor is nice.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark red with a thin head of white cream. Aroma is more like an amber - sweet and malty with some nuttiness. I can’t detect any hop presence in the aroma. Flavor is nice; rounded sweetness and a touch of spiciness. The chocolate appears in the finish. It’s a malty, syrupy chocolate. More milk chocolate flavor than dark cocoa. Very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Light mix of malt and grains in the aroma. Clear dark orange color with a medium white head. Sweet chocolate beginning that gets bitter in the finish but chocolate flavor remains.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large foamy/creamy tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was faint sweetish malts and touches of cocoa and cream. The flavor was toasty with faint cocoa and vanilla cream with a bitter malt base and faint vague fruitiness. The finish was medium length, tangy vanilla cream. Medium body. Ok.

I’m really the first to rate this? Bottle from a sampler. Pours a clear amber with a thin tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted malts, nutty notes and chocolate. The taste is cocoa, some faint malts and a bitter finish. Thin bodied. Not liking this very much.
