2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a finger or so of head. Aromas of apple juice with a little bit of hops. Astringent alcohol shines through a lackluster body of caramel malt and spice. This just isn’t a very good ESB.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a bright, clear bronze with a pillowy off-white head. The nose is of grainy, bready malt and doughy yeast notes with a bit of earthy hops in support. Light to medium-bodied and almost creamy with a quick transition to a lightly astringent and mildly bitter finish. The flavor is of dry, dark bread-like malt with a sold earthy hop backing; more emphasis has been placed on the flavoring than the bittering hops. This is a decent beer. It’s not among my favorite ESBs, but I may have drank it a tad too warm.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle – Pours medium dark amber, low caramel colored head. I found this to be a very easy beer to drink. The Bitter hops finish clean and leave a nice aftertaste, but not near as strong as other hoppier American Pale Ale’s. For me, this would not be a go-to beer, but it’s a good change.
