Commercial Description:
This traditional style German wheat beer remains unfiltered to preserve its natural smooth flavor and aroma. Don't be alarmed by its cloudy apperance or noticable sediment. The slight banana and clove aroma comes from authentic German Hefeweizen yeast. Crafted from winter wheat, two-row malt with Mittelfrueh and Tettnang hops. It has a light and refreshing finish

Poured a hazy orange with a smaller head than most hefeweizens. Aroma was fruity and slightly hoppy. Taste was intresting, starting out with some citrus and wheat, and finishing with a creamy orange taste. Not bad.

12 oz. bottle. Hazy golden orange color with a medium quickly disappearing head. Pineapple and orange are a little over the top in the aroma along with some yeast and bubblegum. Taste is pineapple, yeast, cotton candy, lemon. Thin body.

Pours a darker brown (too dark?) gently effervescent body with a quickly thinning soft white head... banana, clove and citrus as expected--little else to quantify... smooth, a bit active at the back teeth--medium-bodied and substantial--a surprising approximation of the style, with a lingering aftertaste to boot... the beer rewards with clove and banana shaking the wheat’s hands on the exhale... abit sweet, and drier than expected... I must admit, for the Saranac swings and misses I’ve had, this stood up when I conducted a showdown between this and Paulaner’s hefe--and I’ve enjoyed Paulaner’s offering for years now... nicely attempted, Saranac...a good player in the summer mix pack...

I found this beer to be enjoyable. 12 ozer poured into a shaker. Poured a cloudy yellow with three fingers of white head. Aroma had bananas. Flavor was well balanced with the banana aftertaste. Light-Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Good beer.

bottle: Pours a cloudy yellow with white head. Fruity aroma with a taste that says: hello bananas. Some soapiness in the aftertaste. Light and drinkable, however, I would prefer an Erdinger.

bottle: Much improved beer over their Belgian white as we have detected some distinct flavours of banana & clove. Almost identical to Erdinger but not as nice. This is worth a try if you get one in your hands.
