2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours gold with a white head. Straight forward malt presence on the nose. Tastes sweet and caramelly. Not true to style.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from summer sampler pack. Unfortunately, this one did not deliver. For that matter, all of the offerings in the summer pack fell a bit short. Too much carbonation. No love here for this beer.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This brew hits the style but is missing a bit of the breadiness you usually find ina German style helles. Pours a gorgeous clear golden yellow with a thick white head. Leaves behind some lacing. The carbonation is a bit sprightly, but it results in a pretty beer to watch. Nose shows grassiness and perhaps some corn. Carbonation scrubs the tongue near the end of the swallow but mellows quickly leaving a slick soft finish. A light tartness creeps in after the swallow.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle from the summer sampler. Pours a clear golden amber with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is grain, light toast and corn and faint noble hops. Taste is toasted malts with a grassy hop finish. Medium bodied and fairly clean and crisp. Good effort.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear golden with very high carbonation and a big thick bright white head. Aroma is almost all semi-sweet pils graininess with a light touch of a floral noble hops. Flavor is very clean and crisp pils grain flavor with just a very light either Tettnanger or Saaz spiciness. Great mouth feel for the style and very effervescent. Overall one of the better helles style beer I have had to drink.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A mildly sweetish aroma. Taste is certainly dort but not overwehlming like so many bitter dorts. Has some personality that makes it a bit different than the typical lager. Looks like the ubiquitous pale lager in the glass. Seems like saranac is improving the quality of their beers over the last few years. Leaves a little hop bitter bite on the palate. Bitterness on the back of the throat continues to build thru the session. Over all , not bad. Finish is rather smooth with a medium bitter linger.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. So this is the last style in a sampler frombSaranac, and the pour leaves little hope of salvaging the situation. Clear gold, fizzy white head, and aromas that aren’t there. Maybe a little honey. Flavor is weak honey and pear with little else to offer. Seriously, these have all been sub-par.
