2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 willblake (2623) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - JUL 7, 201220120706 bottle from Wine Source, undated. Murky orange with lofty but fleeting head of fine foam, Aroma is decidedly tripel-like with lots of clovey esters and marzipan, but not unlike a number of US saison efforts. Flavor is sweet, bummer, really sweet, like white toast with apricot jam. Some orange maralade. Not at all dry shere it should be, but instead drying quite late and only barely that. poor effort.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 yesyouam (1016) - Fairport, New York, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Saranac Lemon Ginger Saison is a very lively, hazy, amber ale with a soft, elastic, off white head that is kept in place with the constant bubbling. Lemon and ginger are apparent in the aroma, along with notes of lemongrass, apple and black pepper. It’s bright. It’s pretty full bodied and reasonably smooth... until the finish. The finish is a little harsh and acidic. Yes, it tastes like a Saison with lemon and ginger. The phenols are enough to be obvious, but not overpowering. The ginger flavor is full but it doesn’t have that dirty taste. It almost seems like candied ginger, but without the sweetness. The aftertaste is a bit bitter and a bit sour. The longer it lingers, the more it tastes like apple. This beer is a little kooky, but there are no faults. It doesn’t seem to be a challenge to drink 22 ounces of this.

27th August 2012 Hazy gold beer, little off white head. Light palate, dry and crisp. Dry creamy malt. Banana and lesser bubblegum ester. Mild ginger freshens things up. The lemon is tangy and a little sour and well integrated. Dry finish. All right but a bit dry.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 thornecb (3638) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - APR 6, 2013
Pours deep gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Lemon, yeast and ginger aromas. Sharp with sweet banana and yeast upfront turning to mild lemon ginger drop in the lasting sour earth finish. Becomes a bit cloying after half a glass... not looking forward to the rest of the bottle.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ron (1985) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Bottle I’ve had sitting around my beer cellar for awhile. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Lemon and faint ginger on the nose with spices. Musky and sweet. Sweet citrus, touch of grain. Musk and light ginger tones. Musky bitter wheat on the finish. It took the alcohol to take effect for me to start liking this one.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jcweaver (697) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Slightly sweet aroma of wet hay, light fruit, and spices with only a hint of ginger. Sweet yeasty flavor with a touch of grass and lots of spices. Only light lemon and light ginger flavors which is disappointing. The alcohol also shows through. Harsh finish.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (8954) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 23, 2013
Bomber from Half Time. Pours hazy orange gold with a 3 finger creamy off-white head. Aroma first suggests pear. Persistence suggests citrus and spice. Med body. Flavor is lightly malty, with some citrus and spice, quickly followed by a pervasive earthiness while the spice reveals itself as ginger. I think pear keeps creeping in tho. Actually it is a decent, earthy saison.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 joebudzjoe (619) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 5, 2013
22 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Upon first pour, there is a sweet yeast aroma with scents of honeydew and champagne. Pours a cloudy gold body with a minimal white head. Bits of ginger visible in the bottle. Drinks almost like a tripel, this brew is mildly sweet with initial notes of cereal malts. Apparent to the name of the beer, there are notes of lemon and ginger, but there is also a nice honey aftertaste. While beers with "fruits" in the title forebode a sugary experience, this brew is well balanced and not too sticky sweet. Tight carbonation bubbles highlight the mouthfeel. ABV very well masked in flavor, but there is a lingering warming sensation. Once of the best I’ve sampled from Saranac.
