Nov 20, 2009 I really wanted to like this brew. Like the style and price etc. Looks good, smells good, good coffee like taste a first then this funky skunky taste/flavor sets in.....did not like it after that. Those that do....ENJOY

Oct 28, 2009 bottled, aged 8+ months. Brown head on dark ale. Taste is heat w/ choc. bitterness followed by a hint of roast. Hops linger is nice. I got this cheap (like $15-20 a case!) at Greens a while ago, I wasn’t too impressed when I first hit it up. Time, seems, to have helped this one.

Oct 17, 2009 An incredible-looking thick and oily jet black. The head is thick and creamy like an ice cream float. Looks big and amazing.
Aroma is rich and smoky toasted malt. Has a pale malt as well as a surprising hop presence. Really rich and complex. Cloves and cinnamon.
A very mildly roasted malt flavor. Burnt but not harsh. Spicy, like a cinnamon taste. Burnt darkness nicely balanced. Slightly bitter hop. A tad cloying at the swallow.
The feel is milky but with a slightly rough edge. It’s a fine drink. Dark but balanced.

Oct 10, 2009 Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of hard roasted malt as well as lighter notes of soy sauce and smoke. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of hard roasted malt and coffee as well as lighter notes of smoke, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Jul 28, 2009 Pours dark with a small tan head. Alcohol comes through in the aroma. Flavor has some roasted coffee notes. Thick mouthfeel. Pretty solid, there’s something about the flavor that was a little off for me. But overall a good value (8.99 for a six pack) for a hearty stout.

Jun 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black body with at tan head. Roast y malt with hints of licorice and a band aid cherry like woody note. Eh not great for the style, i might add.

May 2, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small dark brown head. The aroma was bitter, roasty and had a moderately strong sweet chocolate element. Very nice aroma but a bit faint. The flavor was bitter, tangy, roasty chocolate and coffee with strong floral hops, ripe dark fruity and a long bitter, roasty and hoppy finish. The mouthfeel was fairly thick. Very good.
