COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hop loverís delight! In the India pale ale tradition, this brew is very hoppy in both aroma and flavor from the generous amounts of Cascade hops used in brewing. Look for a medium to full body and golden straw color.

Purchased at Walmart in the States on tour there. Amber colour with a creamy off-white head and very good thick lacing. Grapefruit scent with pine notes. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nice soft bitterness from the hop well-balanced with the malt. "Goes down easy" kind of real IPA.

Bottled. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Nose of citus fruit and caramel. Sweet flavor with fruit sutch as grapefruit and lemon along with caramel notes. Medium bodied, watery texture and soft carbonation. Ends up with some bitterness.

Pours a clear light copper color with a large fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus and some light roasted malts. Flavor of earthy and citrusy hops and a decent malty backbone. A good amount of bitterness lasts for a while after drinking.

Clear amber beer. Crispy palate, dry. Quite malty for an IPA. Apart from a trace of bitter orange marmalade there is only bitterness from the hops. Dry finish. Very much like an English Bitter and a pretty average one at that.

Hazy orange, pretty good tight white head. Drinks really nice. Not big and over the top, just a decent b alance with enought richness. Lingering orange pith mouthfeel buit on solid richness. Dont mind it at all

Clear copper with a lingering, creamy head. Aroma is earthy and toasted malts. Medium bodied with prickly carbonation. Flavor is more earthy and lightly citrus hops with a hefty english toasted malt back bone. I think the hop profile is muted a bit by the malts. Nothing special here.

HaZY Orangish brown pour, thin head quickly gone. The nose is a little english with malt a very little fruit-maybe a yeast ester and not much of any hop very slight melon/butter vanilla-slight spice-orange-more of a bread and butter. Taste has some toasted malt light carmel mild sweetness, with a pretty citrusy grapefruit bittering.Definatly ipa bitter, has a bit of fruit and more of yeast staleness.I noticed suspended scattered broken up yeast floating around an knew it may be oldish tasting. Fairly dry medium body with a big strong citrus pepper/ginger grapefruit bitter grassy astringant teabag, some pretty mild breadiness/toasted malt a bit of alcohol also with some yeast-old-off taste-- that about sums it up.

Small white compact head. clear dark yellow to brown colour. distinct hop smell though weaker then most i.p.aís. heavy taste for its amount of alcohol. Somewhat smells of coffee but has a lot sweeter taste. drank at buitenlust.

Originally reviewed: 4/22/09. Pours a translucent orange with very little bubbles rising up. Decent white head on top. Great sip rings all around the glass. Thatís one thing Iíve noticed from Saranac beers, is there characteristic sticky lacing. I like it. Smells pretty basic for an IPA: some floral hoppiness, some spiciness, and an odd vegetable scent. Mouthfeel is nice and crisp with a good amount of carbonation bite. Flavor is tame. Slight onset of bitterness, as well as at the finish. Thereís a bready sweetness in there as well. Decent. This is a highly drinkable IPA, just donít expect to be knocked down by the hops. Well-balanced. Recommend.

355mL thanks to craftycarl21. RBSH2 entry. Pours a clear amber with a larger, soapy tan head. Pretty decent retention. Larger lacing. Nose is pretty offensive. Super cheesy with old apple juice and cheap cheese with oxidized caramel malt. Pretty offensive in the nose. Not appetizing. Taste is metallic, tart, fairly soapy with big toffee and tangy kambucha tea. Odd stuff. Iron metallic is not so bad. Not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
