3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Originally reviewed: 4/22/09. Pours a translucent orange with very little bubbles rising up. Decent white head on top. Great sip rings all around the glass. Thatís one thing Iíve noticed from Saranac beers, is there characteristic sticky lacing. I like it.
Smells pretty basic for an IPA: some floral hoppiness, some spiciness, and an odd vegetable scent. Mouthfeel is nice and crisp with a good amount of carbonation bite. Flavor is tame. Slight onset of bitterness, as well as at the finish. Thereís a bready sweetness in there as well. Decent. This is a highly drinkable IPA, just donít expect to be knocked down by the hops. Well-balanced. Recommend.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
355mL thanks to craftycarl21. RBSH2 entry. Pours a clear amber with a larger, soapy tan head. Pretty decent retention. Larger lacing. Nose is pretty offensive. Super cheesy with old apple juice and cheap cheese with oxidized caramel malt. Pretty offensive in the nose. Not appetizing. Taste is metallic, tart, fairly soapy with big toffee and tangy kambucha tea. Odd stuff. Iron metallic is not so bad. Not good.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Wow. Kombucha, sourdough bread, caramel, oxidation on the nose. The flavor is similarly awful. This beer doesnít deserve my writing skills. Horrendous.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. A slightly below average IPA. Citrus hop scent, golden transparent appearance with dense lacing, medium bodied palate with a sticky texture, and a faint citrus hop fronted taste with a weak bitter finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours amber/copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of floral and citrusy hops with some pale and caramel malts. The flavor is the same, and it could be stronger. Average texture. Not the best IPA.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle poured into a cheater pint
A: clear copper colod, 1/2" head with fair retention, lacing rings, gobs of carbonation
S: hint of pint and citrus
T: fairly underwhelming when cold, as it warms more flavor comes through. Mainly pine and citrus. Not too much of a malt backbone. A bit of soap off flavor.
M: medium bodied, not quite as drying as most IPAs.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Has a dark golden color. Smell is very hoppy. Taste is also dominated by hops, considerable bitterness, no balance to speak of. Overall a decent brew.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle pours a coper color, aromas of old hops, pine, and a twinge of citrus. Flavor is bland, maybe an old bottle, but just an ok beer.
