3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beautiful brew in the glass. Smell is subtle, but nice. Maybe I just have a stuffy nose. This is my first IPA. Tastes pretty much like an English Pale, just stronger all around. Feels nice on the tongue after the strong, spicy finish. Not great.

not bad considering it is brewed by saranac. Hoppie and distinctive compared to their other beers.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 11, 2009 Nice frothy head with distinct Cascade nose. :eaves great thick lacing. Hoppiness increased towards end of swallow. Long bitter aftertaste. Light coppery body. Easily a great session/BBQ beer. A little unassuming on the malt profile.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Great head and decent carbonation. Minimal head lasted throughout the drink. Excellent lacing. Aroma of hops and lots of them. Color of golden straw and taste of more hops. Thin to medium body and relatively dry. Slightly bitter and acidic finish with more hops. Leaved a thin film in the mouth. A good IPA but not a great IPA.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
OK head. Light golden color. Moderately hoppy, especially at the finish. Slight odd taste as well.

Decent head but disapated quickly. Not a big IPA fan. Too hoppy a finish for me.

Light golden colour, hoppy smell. Strong metallic taste...somewhat hoppy. Choose another IPA!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2003 Saranac's brews always look better than they taste. This one has a fluffy white head, tons of lace, and nice pale amber color. Slightly fruity malt dominates the aroma and front. This was billed as an American IPA, which made me expect some hugely-hopped west-coast-style plale ale but I was disappointed that this had only hints hops aside from a reasonably strong hoppy-bitterness in the finish. This would actually be a very good IPA if not for some cardboardy notes in the finish.
