A hop loverís delight! In the India pale ale tradition, this brew is very hoppy in both aroma and flavor from the generous amounts of Cascade hops used in brewing. Look for a medium to full body and golden straw color.

12 oz. bottle from Harris Teeter Ar: Mild citrus with a bit of pine. Ap: Clear, copper. Frothy white head with a bit of lace. T: Sweet, bready up front. Finish is moderately bittered but not particularly flavorful. Slightly tannic note on the finish as well. P: Medium-thick and a bit sticky. O: Meh. Just a really mediocre IPA.

12 oz. bottle from a buddy last night - thanks, Steve! Pours a clear orange with a fairly big white head. Malt-leaning IPA- caramel and sweet and pale malts atop minor citrus and pine Cascade hop bitterness. A little resin, a bit of grass and straw, but mostly malts lead the way here. Light-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel that finishes dry. Not much to it. So-so.

The beasters of IPA. If Iím going camping or thereís a summer event and this is one of few options nearby Iíll pick it up. Very drinkable and twelve packs are priced nice. A good session IPA before session IPA became marketing by higher end breweries. Really at 5.8 this is at least balanced and thatís as low as an IPA should go.

pretty one dimensional ipa. i liked the cascade hop aroma, but the flavor was average at best...a little too tame for the style with not a whole lot going on."

Bottle from Kroger from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor had floral hops, grainy malt, light caramel, light citrus, the hops seemed old and nothing really popped. Boring, overproduced ipa.

12oz can from Saranac sampler 12 pack. Piney hops flavor and a bitter finish to it.

It pours a nice golden amber with a thin white head that leaves good lacing on the glass, but the hops are the main focus here. The aroma of hops fills the nose with a floral, piney and resiny bouquet. The palate is medium bodied with an earthy malt character that is subdued by the by the fairly strong but not overpowering hops. Hop notes on the tongue are piney, citrusy and a little bit floral. Saranacs IPA has a pleasant hop bitterness from start to finish and is very refreshing and easy to drink.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a light colored amber brown with a decent transparency. Carbonation was seen rising at a moderate pace to fill a white foamy head that started to dissipate after/about less than about fifty seconds. The smell had some bitter piney hops intertwined with caramel malts. The taste was sharp and bitter and only as it warmed, the malts started to come out. On the palate, it sits about a light to medium on the body - so it gives a fairly sessionable aspect to it. Harsh carbonation is good for the style. Overall, good AIPA by FX/Matt brewing company, and I would say its worthy of having again.

Transfer from BA reviewed on 1-25-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance - A golden color; a bit lighter then the traditional IPA of ~ the same abv, which forms a foamy head that fades quite fast leaving a small amount of foam that persists throughout the drinking experience. Smell - A citrus mixed with hay-like and floral aroma. Not super strong, but a nice blend none the less. Taste - A very small amount of sweet maltiness first meets the tongue, but is then dominated and highly overpowered by a bitter citrus flavor of lemon and grapefruit which then go on to dominate the flavor profile. Mouthfeel - A moderate mouthfeel. Nothing special, but not bad. Easy to drink. Overall - Not a bat beer. If you are feeling something a little more bitter not a bad choice.

Ins Glas ergieŖt sich ein oranges Bier mit schŲner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, hopfig fruchtig, bitter. Geschmack intensiv fruchtig hopfig, stark malzig.

(bottle from UDBeernut for Krampus) Pours a semi-hazy orange/copper color with a very thin white head that leaves a thin film. Aroma is mildly hoppy, with some orange, maybe pine, caramel, and an off smell that I canít quite place. Maybe dill? Taste is kind of a biscuit-caramel sweetness mixed with a minerally flavor and light hits of orange and bitter hops. Not really much else there. Itís not offensive, but itís not really much of anything. Overall a middling IPA.
