This golden sparkling blond ale was brewed to pay homage to a 1000-year tradition rooted in Cologne, Germany. Clear, crisp and easy to drink, the Kolsch of today is lighter than the "House" beer that was served in Cologne 200 years ago - the city that made Kolsch famous. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

Bottle part of summer mixer hanging out at lake. Golden pour white foamy head. Nose is bready and grassy. Tastes of grass, bread, light herbal, musty basement, touch of green apple. Fine enough palate.

Summer mixed 12 pack, 1 of 4 styles in box. Grassy and slightly damp, musky smell. Looks nice. Clear deep golden color, slight white head, lots of visible active carbonation. Flavor is not very pleasing. Some sweet, slight hops, heavy yeast/grain. Just ehhh. Had I known no one was going to drink at my BBQ, I would have just drank from my cellared collection....

Meh. Summer pack. Pretty weak all around. Not offensively bad, but exactly the type of beer that makes me skip this brewer as many times as not. Generic slightly sweet, grainy yellow beer. Like a really well made macro, or a thoroughly boring craft.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a malt, grain and fruit aroma Appearance- The beer has that traditional Kolsch color of straw yellow with a medium sized white head. Taste- Grain, malt and fruit. It matches the aroma. Palate- A light to medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Overall- An average Kolsch style beer.

I picked this beer up due to my love for Cologne, Germany. This is my first Kolsch style beer and I was overall moderately impressed. Color of this beer is golden bronze and this beer has a very strong aroma. There is a bit of a "sparkling-cider" type fizz to this beer and a very lively carbonation to it. Light bitter upfront taste with a light sour aftertaste. Decent beer but won’t try again.

Transfer from BA review on 8-25-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear amber color with tons of little carbonation bubbles seen streaming up through the brew. Upon pouring there is a very small white head on the top of the brew that fades almost instantly to leave no lace and a tiny amount of foam on the top of the brew. Smell – The smell is largely grainy and caramely with some lighter notes of wheat as well as a very light grassy smell. Taste – The taste begins with a malty flavor of a grainy and cracker nature with just a hint of caramel sweetness and some lemon citrus tastes. The sweetness fades fast leaving a rather dry cracker taste to the brew. At the end a light earthy and grassy bitterness comes to the tongue leaving a rather dry and crackery flavor to be left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite light in its creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The two in combination are appropriate for the style making for a refreshing brew overall. Overall – Nothing too special here. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either.

12 oz bottle (fresh: date stamp BB 31 Oct. 2014 and from refrigerated storage) poured dark golden with loads of visible carbonation and excellent clarity. Durable creamy, off-white head. Great looking but all downhill from here, from the grassy but seemingly musty aroma to the disparate mix of hop flavors. Mouthfeel is light, as expected, and OK.
