This golden sparkling blond ale was brewed to pay homage to a 1000-year tradition rooted in Cologne, Germany. Clear, crisp and easy to drink, the Kolsch of today is lighter than the "House" beer that was served in Cologne 200 years ago - the city that made Kolsch famous. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

Went down nice and smoth. Light appearance, the taste was enjoyable, and it had nice honey aroma.

I don’t understand why this beer gets such a bad rap in here. Sure, it’s a lighter beer but take it for what it is! This is a crisp, refreshing, easy drinking beer with a smooth slightly sweet finish. I avoided this beer due to the 17th percentile rating that is far too low for a beer I enjoyed as much as this one.

I like this, it is crisp as a fall day, yet with the bitterness of a summer romance. Deep golden color with a thin head and a malty aroma. Sharp.

Saranac’s Kolsch has a beautiful golden color and a thick white head. It has a lovely light aroma with some fruity esters that reminds me of pineapple. The flavor is well rounded with some light grains, mellow doughy yeast and fruity hops that add just a little bitterness. On the palate there is a nice carbonation with a light body and clean dry finish. I liked this refreshing offering from the summertime sampler and I could see myself looking for it by itself in a six pack over so.

Poured from bottle into mug. Foamy white head that dissipated in just over a minute. Aroma was bready with just a hint of hops. Taste was in line with aroma, slightly bready with hop bitterness. Overall a good beer. Good on a warm day and I think it would go well with grilled food, although I didn?t try it with food. Will drink again.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a thick white foamy head. Aroma of earthy malt and bready yeast. Taste is sweet and peppery with hops. Crisp finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good beer. Pours weak orange with no head. Aroma is sweet like straberries almost. Flavor is sweet but estery and yeasty, with hops enough too that it doesn’t taste like a belgian, interesting and good.

I really thought that Saranac’s interpretation of this difficult style was on point. Soft and lightly hopped with an herbal flowery nose, this is a really good light summer beer. Cereal maltiness was apparent and in excellent balance with the Perle hops. Highly recommended for a BBQ or picnic.

Poured a brilliant gold ale into my Kolsch glass. Big fluffy 2 finger cap that lasts well and laces. Moderate carbonation Delightfully subtle Kolsch aromas: light biscuit dough, wiffs of citrus and apples some demure sweetness some woody smells...all very understated. Medium Munich pale malt spine, delicate slick mouthfeel, subtle rounded character. Up front the Munich malt pronounced charater of Kolsch is evident then midway the hopping ( perle?) delicately add to the malty grainy sweetness with a herbal-lemony decernment, finishes clean and lightly drying with a biscuity after taste. A very decent attempt at the subtle malty Kolsch style although I wish more conditioning had been done to let the flavors develop a bit better...this was very fresh Kolsch.
