Commercial Description:
This golden sparkling blond ale was brewed to pay homage to a 1000-year tradition rooted in Cologne, Germany. Clear, crisp and easy to drink, the Kolsch of today is lighter than the "House" beer that was served in Cologne 200 years ago - the city that made Kolsch famous. We hope you'll enjoy it!

I like this, it is crisp as a fall day, yet with the bitterness of a summer romance. Deep golden color with a thin head and a malty aroma. Sharp.

I don’t understand why this beer gets such a bad rap in here. Sure, it’s a lighter beer but take it for what it is! This is a crisp, refreshing, easy drinking beer with a smooth slightly sweet finish. I avoided this beer due to the 17th percentile rating that is far too low for a beer I enjoyed as much as this one.

Saranac’s Kolsch has a beautiful golden color and a thick white head. It has a lovely light aroma with some fruity esters that reminds me of pineapple. The flavor is well rounded with some light grains, mellow doughy yeast and fruity hops that add just a little bitterness. On the palate there is a nice carbonation with a light body and clean dry finish. I liked this refreshing offering from the summertime sampler and I could see myself looking for it by itself in a six pack over so.

I really thought that Saranac’s interpretation of this difficult style was on point. Soft and lightly hopped with an herbal flowery nose, this is a really good light summer beer. Cereal maltiness was apparent and in excellent balance with the Perle hops. Highly recommended for a BBQ or picnic.
