I was very suprised that this beers overall rating isn’t higher. I really enjoyed this fruit beer. It wasn’t too fruity and had a very nice aroma to it.

Pours amber in the glass. Nose and taste of all kinds of berries, honey and malts. Rated 6/17/02
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 cfranz (261) - Acton, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 1, 2005
Pours nice and red, small head. Malty and fruity - definitely some berry action going on in here. Aroma is lemony. Good aftertast. Came in a summer variety twelve pack. Like most Saranac beers, decent beer for a decent price.

Poured a nice dark red-amber. Hints of berry and sugar on the nose. Poured with a slightly frothy head which soon disapears. The taste isn’t what i expected. Not too much fruit flavor. Mildly sweet from the honey addition. Nothing to exciting from saranac this summer.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jine (896) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - APR 25, 2005
Small white head over a reddish color. I’m smelling almost sour fruit.
Taste is something different. Lots of haters here apparently of this taste, but this is kind of super tart and vaguely has fruit flavors, all with a touch of sourness. Raspberries and blackberries are my two favorite fruit ever. Combine this with an almost Berliner Weisse tart/sourness....I’m strangely liking this.
Definitely not for everyone
Oh yeah, and definitely not Retired, just Renamed

I actually rather enjoyed this beer. It isnt exactly a top tier beer, but i enjoyed it kind of the same way you enjoy cheap champagne on New Year’s. It tasted good, went down easy, and did the trick for throwin some back during a poker game. Plus all the non-craft-beer drinkers there really enjoyed it.

Poured amber with a btan head and strong berry nose. The taste was berries, then malt, then berries to finish. For a fruit beer, nice.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2006 Oh boy, Im thinking. this is going to be disgustingly sweet. BUT, it wasnt. very subtle berry notes and SURPRISE actually has some body and bitterness to it. VERY impressed with this one.
