| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2007 Bottle. Appearance: Dark opaque brown with thick tan head. Aroma: Roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate. Palate: Medium/full. Flavor: Roasted malt, light coffee, grain chocolate, and toffee. Aftertaste reminded me of those Quaker rice cakes. Overall: Not the best stout in the world but a pretty good brew nonetheless. T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA

Pours very dark black with a tan head. Smells dry, dark and actually a bit hoppy. The taste is very dark and dry with some coffee and dark chocolate flavous. Goes down very nice and smooth with a decent mouthfeel. Ambrose (141), East Aurora, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours opaque black with thick, uneven, rocky, tan head. The aroma is thick and rich with chocolate and burnt grains (though not smoky). The flavor starts off bittersweet - sweet with malt and bitter from both a sharp roasted character and also from an fruity and floral hop character. The middle of the tongue is hit with huge amounts of roasted/burnt grains - almost acrid. The finish is bitter and roasty. There is also some residual sweetness across the tongue, but not as much as up front. The after-taste is a mix of hops and instant coffee. The mouthfeel is medium in body and strongly over-carbonated. The extra spritz causes the roasted and burnt flavors to taste harsh instead of like dark chocolate or coffee. Overall, it isn’t a bad stout, but it does have flaws. EnnuiDivine (10), New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 19, 2007 I’m a fan of stout, but this just didn’t impress. The flavor came off as weaker and more bitter than other oatmeal stouts that I’ve tried. Still, better than any macrobrew. douglas88 (1583), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark chocolate color with a decent off-white head. The taste is smooth and light; some burnt malt and toffee, a light oatmeal, and some sweeter flavors. The body is thin to medium. A decent stout, not bad at all.
