A bit too heavy on the roasted flavors. Maybe i’m just not a fan of stouts.

Smells of roasted malts, sweet and creamy smelling. Pours a thick opaque black with a creamy tan head. Taste is watery, but bitter. Not quite what I was hoping for. But not terrible.

Good beer. nice full oat notes in the taste and the aroma. Warning, let this beer war a little or you lose almost all of the flavor

Pours dark with a nice roasty head. Aroma is pleasant with roasty malt chocolate. Taste is true of the aroma roasty and chocolaty with a slight hoppiness. This is a decent beer for the money.

Large, fluffy, off white whipped cream head. Toasty sweet nose with a notes of old wood paneling. Initially a soft mouthfeel that becomes quite unpleasant when it hits the back of the throat. Too much alcohol taste with not enough offset. Has the flavor of burnt bread. The finish lingers with an unpleasant sweetness.

Nose of smoky and candied oatmeal, charred grains and overtoasted bread. Sweet maple and smoke and soy flavor, with some creamed oatmeal and charred burnt ends. Probably one of the better of these Saranac recipes, and it’s executed well, but it’s simple and a little too sweet, with far too much of that common character you find in every Saranac.

Average sized head, deep brown color. Dark toasted chocolate malt aroma. Very slight oatmeal, roasted flavor. Thinner bodied than expected, many better stouts out there. Not horrible, but wouldn’t drink again.
