Lightly toasted malt aroma. Sweet like a mild chocolate. Sweetness is a nice mild balance. Less coffee. Hint of dark cherry/grape. Excellent.
Only slightly biter, but with a more pronounced sweet counterbalance. It’s very good, and has a dry finish. Has some alcohol in the flavor.
Feels thick and grainy, sandpaper. Substantial but not a choker.
A nice, balanced stout. Has the thick chunky feel of an oatmeal, but a sweet backbone. Very nice. zach8270 (2087), Henrietta, New York, USA

Dark black pour with a thick and puffy brown head. Very nice oatmeal, chocolate and malty aroma. The taste is very smooth and a nice mixture of sweet malts, chocolate and a touch of toffee. Very smooth finish. Quite good. cjw163 (108), hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2007 Opague appearance with a large, chestnut colored head and very good lacing. Chocolate malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Earthy, nutty, mildly sweet, roasted malt taste. Smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel, but gentle on the palate. Finish sticks around for awhile. A good, easy drinking outmeal stout. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2008 12 ounce bottle from the winter box. Pours black, nice color, a little head not much, could have been more. Sweet like it should be but it did’t cloy. Nice and thick mouth feel, not the thickest Ive had but still full which was nice. Not the heaviest Ive had either, I like them more like a meal in a bottle, but this one was good. dlovell2 (140), Columbia, Maryland, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 14, 2005 This beer is better than the rating would indicate. Pours deep brown with a 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of roasty malt, chocoff, oatmeal topped with brown sugar. The flavor is roasty malty, with a lot of dark chocolate hints. Somewhat watery for a stout but pretty good nonetheless.
