COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saranac Octoberfest is a rich flavorful lager. We use imported two-row and crystal malt and balance it with the pleasant bitterness of Saaz and Tettang hops.

Watery for style, lacks malty complexity and sweetness in the taste and the nose. Very basic, coloration is almost similar to an amber, taste isn’t far off with just a little bit of dryness, toastiness, nuttiness. The Octoberfest style is one of my favorites, which makes this beer enjoyable enough as a beer, but it isn’t a very good example of the style and only hits 3 because a poor Octoberfest is about as good as an average anything else. :).

Watery at the start with a certain maltiness that comes on strong. Some nut and orange in the flavor.

I bought this at the local bottle shop only because of the price. Similar to what I thought, watered down, mild, not a lot going on here. It’s drinkable, average.

12 ounce bottle. Pours an orange/gold with a small white head. Aroma of malt, grain and caramel. Taste is sweet caramel malt, grain, spices and citrus. Decent enough.

Decent maltiness, a little thin in body with a hint of spice to it, this wasn’t as bad as some other American Octoberfests but still not near the best.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a amber-copper color with an off white head. A good few fingers of head at first, though this drops down rather quickly without leaving too much lace behind. The nose is a bit of caramel malt and bread as well as some light hop notes. The taste is mostly some caramel and bread and not too much else. Medium body with good carbonation. Fairly plain, but still tasty. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-23-2010

12oz bottle. Amber in color with a sweet, malty, and hoppy aroma. Taste was malty sweet and somewhat bitter with a decent amount of hops and a medium body. Seemed to me to be a fairly standard american version on an Octoberfest.

Copper pour, white head. Aroma is perfumey, malty, honey, caramel. Flavor is a mix of florals and caramel malt, some aromatic honey and no hops to speak of. Average at best.
