Probably wrong malt selection, no finish!!! Tasted next to a Hacker Pschoor and it got lost!

I think this beer transcends words.... rhoderickj (7), Maryland, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 This is a decent Octoberfest, albeit a bit light compared to others in its class. Although this isn’t my favorite Octoberfest -- if it is indeed an Octoberfest -- it is a highly drinkable beer. It seems to lack the earthy character that I have come to associate with other Octoberfests. The aroma is hardly noticeable, consisting mostly of spruce and citrus. Its golden amber appearance is standard for a lager, but a bit on the light side for an Octoberfest. Minimal head. The taste is interesting: light sweetness, medium bitterness, and lightly sour. It has a crisp palate, with a thin texture and lively carbonation. The finish is clean and abrupt. Enjoyable, but not award-winning for its category. whtguitarguy (6), Virginia, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Pours to a medium amber brown with a nice head that doesn’t go away to quickly. It coats the glass well. Aroma is of hops with a sweet note hidden in the background. Pleasantly bitter and smooth finish. Not a lot of aftertaste. This is a light-medium bodied Maerzen. It isn’t too creamy like some other examples. iceman15658 (26), Acme, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Picked this one up in Maryland. Pours into the glass a bronze colour with a frothy off white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is malty, sort of sweet with some peanut smell. Taste is fairly normal for a Oktoberfest. But it has a certain glassy quality to it. That throws things off for me.Otherwise pretty full and not a whole lot of caramel. just right. Fevernova (67), Ohio, USA
