3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated and left some adequate lacing.
The smell had some English malts up front (typical soapiness). There’s a light grassy hoppiness coming through.
The taste was mainly malty and barely carried any hoppy bitterness back into the flavoring.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat smooth and tried to have some sort of harshness but even that was mostly hard to find.
Overall, as an English Pale ale it works and honestly it’s not bad to me. Probably would have again with some fish n’ chips.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
It pours a beautiful golden amber color with excellent clarity. The head foams up thick and white then thins out to a small thin cap. The aroma is full of fine English hops that are floral and pleasing. The hops are up front on the tongue and give a nice citrusy and earthy character to the flavor. Malts are lighter and add just enough sweetness and toasted flavor to the beer. The palate is smooth with a medium body and a crisp finish that make it oh so drinkable.

Transfer from BA rated on 1-26 -12 -
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance - Pours an amber, slightly red color with a head that faded quite fast to give just a bit of lacing.
Smell -Caramel is the first detected with a bit of maple mixed in. At the end there is a little bit of citrusy hop aroma, not much, but a very light aroma.
Taste - Sweet malt up front with hints of caramel and the slightest bit of roasty flavor. A very light hop taste, mainly pine meets the tongue later in the tasting experience.
Mouthfeel - A just above average mouthfeel. A decent body and a nice level of carbonation.
Overall - Its a good session beer. Saranac always does a great job of offering quality beers at a good price. In fact I would say they are one of the tops in taste to price ratio. Well worth a try.

Bottle pour. Rich amber with sizable white head. Solid lacing. Nose of caramel biscuit malts and soft floral hops. Flavor is tilted towards the malts, with just trace spice from the hops. Overall: average.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a fantastic orange amber with a lusterous shine and thin head of off white foam that fell pretty fast. Nose is bright with floral hops. Beautiful sweetness that does not get too fruity but just hints at fruit. A balanced herbal scent that suggests grass and hay. A malty sweetness that is grainy and a bit husky. There is a touch of mild soap on the nose but nothing egregious. Taste is lovely. Bitter. Hop forward without being too hop important. A nice biscuity malt with enough sweetness to rock those hops into submission. And a pungent little herbal to really quaff! OH!
Finishes wonderfully and balanced well although slanted a bit toward hops. No presumption in this one just a slightly bitter tonic that growls a bit.
