Clear amber color, piney semi sweet aroma. Medium-light bodied, great drinkability. Clean, crisp flavor with fresh semi-sweet hop bitterness. Good summer beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is fruit, flowers and grass. Besides the appearance the beer seems to be almost identical to Saranacís pale ale. The hops and malts are balanced well enough and it leave a subtle hop bite on the palate. ok beer but i would not seem this out when I can already get their flagship pale ale.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hops taste is forward but refreshing rather than strong, with a malt selection that complements it well. Solid aroma and appearance. Great choice if youíre looking for a flavorful yet very easy drinking beer. Very reasonably priced as craft beers go, available as part of the Saranac Summer Mix pack. On the downside, the package had no freshness dating, nor did this particular bottle (some bottles in the pack have a best by date stamped on the neck, others donít -- it seems to be at random). Would probably make this a semi-regular if it were in itís own 6 or 12 pack at the same price with more consistent best by dating.

2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer has more hops than I expected with a strong aftertaste. The color was a burnt yellow without much head.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale amber color, small white head. Piney & citrusy nose. Has a hefty malt character but itís easily outmuscled by the bitterness from the hops. Overall though, itís one step lower in intensity than a lot of pale ales. Slightly musty finish.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Marketed as a summer ale, Saranac Pale Pale Ale has a weak nose and a slight aroma of grass and citrus. Straw colored with a minimal head. Body is thin and watery with a minimal head. Taste is slightly bitter with an astringent metallic finish. In the absence of other characteristics, it isnít particulary pleasant. Overall, it isnít a bad beer, and it would probably be fine on a hot summer day, but I have no other reason to recommend it over Saranacís other, better offerings.
