2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
DATE TASTED: October 25, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Wychwood pint... OCCASION: unwinding with some pre-Halloween pumpkin!... APPEARANCE: opaque autumn-brown body with a thin off-white head--but zero lacing?!... AROMA: distinct pumpkin waft and lightly toasted malts that take precedent over the pumpkin; spices are soft, subdued...PALATE: slightly warming, medium-bodied balanced ale that sits well in the throat; inoffensive but not impressive...TASTE: malty; solidly built with a slightly suggestive pumpkin/spice flavor--modestly autumnal...OVERALL: Situated among other pumpkin bombers and October brews, this beer finds itself slightly below the competition, if only because it offers little truly memorable qualities...not a bad thing, just not much of a thing like waiting for the Great Pumpkin instead of trick-or-treating...

From 12 oz bottle. Pours a burnished bronze with a thin but lasting off-white head and lively carbonation. Aromas are pretty light but some vanilla, cinnamon and clove come through. Taste is banana and vanilla at first, before some pumpkin, clove and cinnamon kick in. Touch of dried fruit also. Nice creamy note in the palate. Not bad.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
The pumpkin is definitely there, but its tastes chemically. There is some nutmeg as well which helps the beer. All in all, a mild approach to a beer that is typically overstated.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a clear reddish brown with an active tan head. Aroma of cinnamon berry and apples. The taste is smokey with lots of cinnamon. The pumpkin is subtle. Not offensive, but not too good either.

Overall, a thin yet mildly tasty pumpkin ale...very drinkable for a newcomer but very light on taste.

This beer does pumpkin right. It tastes like a pumpkin desert. The spices are all there and the balance is exceptional.

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
I am glad I didn’t buy this because wow, was it bad. Bottle. The only rewarding facet of the beer is the appearance - it’s light, hazy brown with a solid, retained head. The most accurate description I can think of for the nose is a diaper, seriously. Thin body that has negligible pumpkin presence and light sugar. Ugh, seriously.

Mild spice flavours of cinnamon and cloves, noticeable pumpkin taste. Smooth with a lingering aftertaste, I like it.
